Okay, so today I’m diving into something that’s been taking up a ton of my time lately – “WCW vs nWo: World Tour”. This game, man, it’s a total nostalgia trip back to the Nintendo 64 days. I remember when this bad boy came out in ’97, right when WCW was absolutely killing it. I’ve been itching to get back into it, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride figuring out this roster.
First off, I fired up the game and started poking around the different modes. It’s got your usual suspects like Exhibition and Tournament, but then there’s this League Challenge and Best of Seven stuff that feels straight out of Japan. I messed around with those for a bit, just to get a feel for the gameplay, you know?
Then I got down to the real business – the roster. This is where things got interesting. Obviously, you’ve got your WCW and nWo guys, but then there are all these other promotions I didn’t even know about. Like, who the heck are these Dead or Alive Wrestling guys? And apparently, there are some hidden characters too – Joe Bruiser and Black Widow, according to some stuff I found online. I spent a good chunk of time just trying to figure out how to unlock them, but no luck yet.

Started with the basics, checking out all the WCW guys. You got your big names, the ones everyone knows. I played a few matches with some of them to find the strongest player I can use in the game.

Then I jumped over to the nWo side. It’s crazy to see how stacked this roster is. It feels like half the good guys are on this team! And I noticed Eric Bischoff is in there too, which is just wild. He’s the head of WCW, but he’s on the nWo roster in the game? Makes no sense, but whatever, it’s a game, right?

Then there are all these other dudes from these fictional wrestling leagues. I spent some time looking at their movesets and stats, trying to see if any of them are worth using.
I even tried to learn some of the signature moves and special maneuvers. They make each wrestler stand out, and that’s what I like about this game. This took some time because I wanted to figure out if they are really useful or just for show.
It’s been a blast going through all these wrestlers and seeing what they can do. It’s like a history lesson in late 90s wrestling, all wrapped up in a fun (and sometimes frustrating) N64 game.
So far, I’m just scratching the surface of this game, to be honest. I still haven’t unlocked those hidden characters, and I’m sure there’s a ton of other stuff I haven’t even discovered yet. But that’s the fun of it, right? Digging in, figuring things out, and just enjoying the ride. It’s been a while since a game has grabbed me like this, and I’m excited to see what else I can uncover in “WCW vs nWo: World Tour”.
I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress. Maybe I’ll even figure out how to unlock Joe Bruiser and Black Widow. Wish me luck!
