You know what? I’ve been glued to the screen for the past few days, watching the Worlds 2024, the League of Legends tournament. Man, what a ride! I decided to keep track of it all, like a diary, and now I’m here to spill the beans.
So, it all started with me trying to figure out the schedule. Riot Games, the folks behind League of Legends, they announced the whole shebang. Eight teams made it to the Quarterfinals. I got all the info, jotted it down – dates, times, the whole nine yards.
Then came the predictions. Riot Games opened up the Pick’Ems for the playoff stage, and boy, was I hooked! Trying to guess who’s gonna win, it’s like a sport in itself. I spent hours, seriously, going back and forth, weighing the strengths and weaknesses of each team. My friends and I, we even had our own little competition going. It was a blast!
The Quarterfinals themselves, they were intense! Best-of-five matches, each one a rollercoaster of emotions. I watched every single game, cheering, groaning, and celebrating along with the casters and the crowd. I remember one particular match, it went all the way to the fifth game, and my heart was pounding out of my chest! It went down in my notebook as an “epic showdown.”
- I watched all the matches that were streamed.
- I took notes of big plays during the matches.
- I even started feeling like a pro analyst, breaking down the strategies and whatnot.
Now, moving to the semifinals and after the quarters, T1, one of my favorite teams, faced off against Gen. G Esports. I was on the edge of my seat, man! Every game was a nail-biter, but T1 pulled through, 3-1. And guess what? They swept Top Esports 3-0 in the quarterfinals. What a performance!
The finals? Oh boy, the finals! I even managed to catch some of it at The O2. The atmosphere was electric. Everyone was so hyped. And seeing Faker lift the trophy again was amazing. The guy’s a legend! They said he was the MVP, and I totally agree. T1 won the world title in 2023, and they did it again this year! They just crushed it in 2024, too!
The Numbers Don’t Lie
I dug up some stats after the whole thing was over. Turns out, the peak viewership was 6.94 million! That’s insane! And on average, there were like 1.73 million people watching. We all spent nearly 191 million hours watching this thing! It’s crazy how big this has become.
So yeah, that’s my Worlds 2024 journey. Kept me busy, kept me entertained, and gave me a ton of stuff to write about. It’s more than just a game; it’s a whole experience. I enjoyed every moment of it, the ups and downs, the wins and losses, the joy and the heartbreaks. It’s an unforgettable experience, and now I can’t wait for the next one to start!
