Okay, so I finally got around to playing Assassin’s Creed 2. You know, the one where you play as Ezio, running around Renaissance Italy, stabbing people. Classic! I figured, since I was going for it, why not try to snag all the trophies? Let me tell you, it was a wild ride.
I started off just playing the game. You gotta do that first, right? Just enjoy the story, get a feel for the world. I just followed along with the main story missions, got into some fights, did some climbing. I wasn’t even thinking about trophies at this stage, just experiencing the game.
Step one, beat the game. Sounds easy enough, but man, this game is long! But seriously, just plow through the story missions. The game will guide you, just play it all the way through.
While I was doing that, I started noticing these little achievements popping up. Like, “Oh, you kicked a guard while using the flying machine!” or “Hey, you swept 5 guards at once with a long weapon!” Stuff like that. I was not really paying attention, these just happened as I fooled around in the game.
- Kick a Guard while using the Flying Machine.
- Sweep 5 guards at once by using a Long Weapon.
Getting Serious About Trophies
After I finished the main story, I realized I had a bunch of trophies already, but also there was still a lot I was missing. So I decided, alright, time to get serious. I looked up a trophy guide online – there are tons of them. Turns out there are 34 Bronze, 15 Silver, and one Gold trophy in this game.
The guide I found broke it down into steps. Get all the feathers, unlock all the codex pages, win all the races. I did them all, and I gotta say, some of these were a real pain. Like, the races? Super frustrating! But I stuck with it.
One thing I did to make it easier was to use the in-game maps. You can buy them from art merchants, and they show you where all the collectibles are. Super helpful for finding those pesky feathers and glyphs.
I also started using different strategies for combat. Like, if I needed to kill a bunch of enemies without getting hit, I’d use smoke bombs or the hidden blade. The guide I found had some good tips for that stuff.
Finally, after hours and hours of playing, I got that last trophy. The Platinum! Man, it felt good. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it.
So yeah, that’s my Assassin’s Creed 2 trophy story. If you’re thinking about going for the Platinum, I say do it! Just be prepared to spend some serious time in Renaissance Italy.
