Okay, so, let’s talk about my hair. Or, well, the lack of it. I’m Paulo Costa, you know, the UFC fighter. Yeah, that’s me. Anyway, I started noticing some, uh, thinning up top a while back. Didn’t like it. Not one bit. So, I decided to do something about it. That’s right, I went for a hair transplant.
First things first, I had to figure out where to get this done. You don’t want to trust just anyone with your scalp, you know? I am a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter, so I chose Brazil. After some digging around, I found this clinic that seemed legit. Lots of good reviews, seemed like they knew what they were doing.
So, I booked a consultation. I called them, we had a chat on the phone, I liked their vibe, so I went in. The doctor checked my head, told me what they could do, how many grafts I’d need, all that stuff. It sounded good, so I decided to go for it. I mean, I’m in the public eye, and I will gearing up for a fight with Sean Strickland, gotta look my best, right?
- First step: the consultation.
- Second step: booking the procedure.
The day of the transplant, I was a bit nervous, I’ll admit. It’s not exactly a walk in the park. They started by shaving my head, which was a bit weird, seeing myself bald like that. Then, they numbed me up, which was a relief. I didn’t feel a thing during the actual procedure.
They took hair from the back of my head and moved it to the top. Took a few hours, and I just kinda chilled out, listened to some music, tried not to think about the tiny little holes they were making in my head.
After it was done, my head was all bandaged up. Looked a bit rough, not gonna lie. It was a bit painful, too. They gave me some meds for the pain, and I had to sleep sitting up for a while, which was not fun. I had staph infection and I had to be hospitalized and needed a third surgery. It was very painful.
The recovery was a bit of a pain. My head was itchy, and I couldn’t scratch it. Had to be super careful washing it, sleeping, everything. But, I followed the doctor’s orders, and it all healed up nicely. I used the pay dispute as an excuse to get out of the fight against Jared Cannonier.
The Result
Now, a few months later, I’m really happy with the results. My hair’s growing back in, and it looks good! It’s thicker, fuller, and I feel like myself again. It was definitely worth the hassle. So, yeah, that’s my hair transplant story. It wasn’t easy, but I’m glad I did it. If you’re thinking about it, do your research, find a good doctor, and be prepared for the recovery. It’s a process, but it can really make a difference.
Alright, that’s it for me. Gotta get back to training. Later!
