Okay, so I’ve been digging into the indie wrestling scene lately, and let me tell you, 2024 is shaping up to be a wild year. I started by scouring the internet, looking for any buzz about up-and-coming wrestlers.
First, I created a massive list of names from various forums and wrestling blogs. I literally spent hours, maybe days, jotting down every single name that seemed to have some hype around them. Then I narrowed it down based on a few things like, how often they were mentioned, whether they had any titles, and just a general gut feeling. It felt like i was a detective, a wrestling detective.
- Watched a ton of matches. I mean, a TON. YouTube, Vimeo, you name it. I wanted to see these wrestlers in action, see their moves, their charisma, how they worked the crowd.
- Took notes like a madman. I filled up pages of my notebook with details about their in-ring style, their signature moves, even their entrance music.
- Compared my notes with what other people were saying online. It was cool to see where my opinions lined up with the general consensus and where they differed.
- Engaged in conversation by sharing some of my opinion in online communities, and listened to others’ opinions.
After all that, I finally came up with my list of the best indie wrestlers to watch in 2024. I am sure some will call it a crazy list. It’s a mix of high-flyers, technical wizards, and powerhouse brawlers. I tried to be a little objective, like, who’s really pushing the boundaries and doing something different?
Finally, I decided to share my list with others, so I typed my thoughts. It took a while to get it all down, but it was worth it.
It’s been a fun ride, diving deep into the world of independent wrestling. I’m really excited to see how these wrestlers develop throughout the year. It’s a tough business, but these folks are incredibly talented and dedicated. Now I can proudly say I am also part of the conversation in the wrestling community.
I even thought about keeping up with the scene and updating my list as the year goes on. Maybe I’ll make it a regular thing. Who knows?
This is just a feeling from my guts. Hope you guys enjoy it. Cheers!
