Okay, so I’ve been digging into baseball history lately, and I decided to put together the 1982 Phillies roster. I thought it would be a cool project to, like, really see who was on that team. Here is how I go about this:

Finding a Starting Point
First things first, I needed a list to even start with. So, I just went to Google and typed in “1982 Phillies roster.” Pretty basic, I know. I found a couple of sites that seemed like they’d have the info.
Gathering the Names
I opened up a simple text file, nothing fancy. Then, I just started copying and pasting the player names from those websites into my text file. I figured I’d clean it up later. I wanted to get everyone, from the big stars to the guys who barely played.
Checking and Double-Checking
Once I had all the names, I realized I needed to make sure I didn’t miss anyone, or have any duplicates. So, I went back to a couple of those websites and carefully compared my list to theirs. It’s easy to miss someone, you know?
Organizing It All
- I decided to organize the list by position. So, I created sections for pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders.
- Under each position, I just listed the players’ names.
The Final Roster
After all that copying, pasting, and checking, I finally had my 1982 Phillies roster. It felt good to have it all in one place. It’s not some super professional database or anything, but it’s my list, and I put it together myself. That’s kinda cool, right?
