Okay, so I’ve been on this mission to collect every single Genji skin in Overwatch. It’s been a grind, I’m not gonna lie. But hey, gotta show off that cyborg ninja style, right?
The Beginning (aka The Easy Part)
I started, like everyone else, with the basic skins. You know, the ones you get just by playing the game and leveling up. These were a breeze. I just played normally, focused on getting good with Genji (lots of dashing and deflecting!), and the loot boxes started rolling in. I got the common recolors like “Carbon Fiber” and “Chrome” pretty quickly.
The Grind Begins (aka The Loot Box Lottery)
Then came the real challenge – the event skins. I’m talking about those limited-time skins that only pop up during special events like Lunar New Year, Halloween Terror, and Anniversary. This is where things got… interesting. Basically, it became a loot box opening frenzy.
- Lunar New Year:I remember desperately trying to get that “Baihu” skin. I played so much during that event, it’s a blur. Opened a ton of loot boxes, prayed to the RNG gods…and finally, it dropped! The relief was immense.
- Halloween Terror: The “Oni” Genji skin was my target. Again, more loot boxes, more playing, more hoping. Got it eventually, but man, it took a while.
- Anniversary:I snagged most of the remaining skins, like “Sentai” and “Blackwatch”. The event gave out a ton of look boxes and I also used some in game currency to grab the rest.
The Final Stretch
After countless hours, many loot boxes, and a few close calls with my sanity, I was almost there.I spent some time in the hero gallery to see what I am missing, I just need a few of the recent league skin, not too hard.
I finally got those last couple of them. The feeling of having every single Genji skin… pure satisfaction. It’s like a badge of honor, a testament to my dedication (or maybe obsession) with this character. I am still working to get those league skins, but all in all, I am pretty happy with it.
It took quite a while, but I did it. Now, time to go show off my collection in some quick play matches!
