Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “party builder genshin” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. I wanted to share what I did, from start to finish, and maybe it’ll help someone else out.

First, I started by just brainstorming. Like, what did I actually want? I knew I needed something to help me quickly put together teams in Genshin Impact, because I’m terrible at remembering all the elemental reactions and stuff.
Then I moved to searching for resources and tools online. I wanted to make sure if there is existing app or website to do this. I found many, but all of them aren’t what I want.
My Building Process
So I decided to build one myself, and here’s how I did it. Note that I’m not a coder, so this is all pretty basic stuff.
- I opened up a Google Sheet. Yeah, I know, super fancy. But it’s easy to use!
- I created a few columns: “Character Name”, “Element”, “Weapon”, “Role”, and some notes about synergy. Just basic info to start.
- I created a few pages inside the document to seperated my different experiment data.
- Then I started filling it in. This took a while. I went through the Genshin wiki and just copied and pasted a bunch of character info.
- I added my character info, some that I don’t own. So that when I pulled a new character I can just add some comments instead of typing all data again.
- Once I had all the characters in, I started playing around with the “filter” function. This is where the magic happens. I could filter by element, for example, to see all my Hydro characters.
- I also tried to build a filter to see all my avaliable characters for Spiral Abyss. And filter them with thier element, roles.
It’s not perfect, but it’s way better than what I was doing before (which was basically just guessing). I can now quickly see which characters I have that might work well together.
I’m still adding to it. I’m thinking of adding a section for artifacts, but that’s a whole other can of worms. Maybe I’ll even try to learn some actual coding and make this into a real app someday. Who knows!

Anyway, that’s my story. Hope it was at least a little bit helpful (or at least entertaining!). If anyone else has any tips or tricks for building Genshin teams, let me know!
