Okay, so I saw this “pregnant Asuka” thing trending, and, like, my curiosity got the better of me. I had to see what all the fuss was about. I mean, Asuka’s a badass pilot, seeing her in a totally different context, it just… piqued my interest, you know?

First, I jumped on my usual image boards. Just doing a general search, you know, “pregnant Asuka.” The first wave was a lot of fan art, some pretty tame, some… not so much. I scrolled through, just taking it all in. I gotta say, some people are really talented. The way they captured… the changes, it was kinda impressive, even if it was a little weird at first.
Then, I dug a little deeper. I started looking into specific artists, the ones who seemed to really nail the look. I found a few recurring names, and I went down a rabbit hole of their other works. It wasn’t all “pregnant Asuka,” obviously. They had a bunch of other stuff, other characters, different scenarios. It was interesting to see their style evolve across different pieces.
The “Process”
- Started with a broad search. Just typed it in and see what came up.
- Filtered through the initial results. Lots of scrolling, lots of clicking.
- Focused on specific artists. Found a few favorites.
- Explored their wider portfolios. Checked out their other stuff.
- Took note of details. Hair, expressions, clothing… all that stuff.
I spent a good couple of hours just browsing. It was one of those things where you start looking at one thing, and then you end up somewhere completely different. I even stumbled across some fan fiction. I didn’t read too much of that, but I skimmed a few paragraphs. Let’s just say some people have very… active imaginations.
Honestly, in the end, it was more about appreciating the art than anything else. I mean, the whole concept is out there, for sure. But seeing how different artists interpreted it, the different styles they used, the little details they added… that’s what kept me hooked. I wouldn’t say I’m a convert or anything, but I definitely got sucked in for a while there.
