Okay, so I’ve got this BMW, and for a while now, it’s been doing this weird shaking thing. It’s not super violent, but it’s definitely noticeable, and it was driving me nuts. I’m no mechanic, but I like to tinker, so I decided to try and figure it out myself.

First Steps: Checking the Obvious
First thing I did was check the tires. I looked for any uneven wear, bulges, or anything that looked out of place. I even checked the tire pressure, making sure they were all pumped up to what the sticker on the door jamb said. Nothing. Still shaking.
Digging Deeper: Wheels and Suspension
Next, I figured it might be a wheel balance issue. So, I jacked up the car (safely, of course!) and took the wheels off. I spun them around to check whether that can be the issue. I even wiggled everything around – tie rods, ball joints, control arms – you name it. I was looking for anything loose or worn out. Still, I couldn’t get the answer.
I cleaned all the wheels in case there are something sticked on them.
Getting Help with help of a friend: The Test Drive
I called my friend Jack, who is way better than me. I explaind the situation.

- I did a test. I get the car to do shake and felt where the shaking was coming from. Seemed to be more from the front end.
- My friend suggested a test to see if it was related to engine speed or vehicle speed. So, I got it shaking, then shifted into neutral. The shaking didn’t change with the engine speed, so that pointed more towards something in the wheels, suspension, or drivetrain.
Finding the Culprit(maybe)
My friend helped to check the wheels and all the other place, he suggested to change the place of wheels to see whether the shaking still there.
After a few rounds of switching the wheel, we finally found that the shaking is gone. So we have to go a tire shop to ask the shop to fix it.

So, yeah, that’s my shaking BMW story. It took some time, some basic tools, and a bit of trial and error. I learned a good bit, and hopefully, I fixed it!
