Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into NCAA 25 lately, and I wanted to share my experience building up some killer 3-star teams. It’s a fun challenge, and I’ve definitely learned a few things along the way.

My Quest for 3-Star Glory
I started out by, you know, just picking a team that looked kinda cool. I went with the Old Dominion Monarchs – their logo is pretty sweet. I figured, “Hey, 3-star team, how hard could it be?” Turns out, it’s a bit of a grind at first!
My first few games? Ouch. We got stomped. My quarterback was throwing interceptions like they were going out of style, and my defense couldn’t stop a nosebleed. It was rough, man. I realized I needed a better strategy, and fast.
Digging into the Details
I am going to introduce my top three teams:
- Old Dominion
- UTSA
- Coastal Carolina
So, I started actually looking at the player ratings. I know, revolutionary, right? I focused on finding players with decent speed and agility, even if their overall rating wasn’t super high. A fast running back can make a huge difference, even if he’s not the strongest guy out there.

I also started messing with the playbooks. I used to just pick random plays, but then I started paying attention to what worked and what didn’t. Turns out, running the ball a lot more helped me control the clock and keep my defense off the field. Who knew?
Slowly But Surely…
It took a while, but I started seeing some improvement. We started winning a few games, and even pulled off a couple of upsets against higher-ranked teams. It felt good. I started recruiting like crazy, looking for those hidden gem players that other teams were overlooking.
I also learned that recruiting is a whole game in itself. I used to just offer scholarships to the highest-rated guys, but that doesn’t always work. You gotta find players that fit your system, and sometimes that means taking a chance on a lower-rated guy with good potential.
Finally, Some Success!
After a few seasons, my Old Dominion team was actually pretty good! We were competing for conference championships and even made it to a bowl game. It was awesome to see the team grow and improve over time. It’s not an overnight thing, for sure, but it’s super rewarding when you start seeing the results of your hard work.
So, if you’re looking for a challenge in NCAA 25, try building up a 3-star team. It’s a grind, but it’s a lot of fun. Just remember to be patient, focus on the fundamentals, and don’t be afraid to experiment. You might surprise yourself with what you can accomplish!
