Alright, so I had this idea to make some new cards for, you know, just messing around. I’m calling it “howl newcards zzz” for now, kinda catchy, right?
First, I brainstormed some card concepts. What kind of effects did I want? What kind of theme? I jotted down a bunch of random ideas, anything that came to mind. I didn’t really use any design tools at first, just a text file on my computer, scribbling down random phrases.
I use this web tool to create cards image,just input words,and it can output the cards’ images.
Getting the Images Ready
- First I use this tool to output the card’s image,one by one.
- Then I saved all image files into my disk.
- I need check image one by one,because some image looks not very good.
- The last,I renamed some file’s name,let it easy to read.
After images done,I created a new folder,this time I started to use excel to create my card’s data.
Making It All Work
I used excel because it’s easy for everyone,so,you can see,just some columns.
- card’s name.
- card’s type.
- card’s effect description,etc.
So I filled in all the details – name, type, attack, defense, special abilities, all that good stuff. It took a while, but I got there eventually.
Finally,I output these data into json files, and it all worked,I realized my “howl newcards zzz” plan.
It was a pretty fun project, even if it was just for myself. It’s cool to see something go from a bunch of random ideas to a, you know, a thing. It’s not perfect, of course, but it’s mine. Might tweak it later, might not. We’ll see!
