Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Wuthering Waves, and let me tell you, this “augment” thing? It’s a game changer, literally. I wanted to boost my Jiyan, and figured I’d document the whole messy process. It’s not super intuitive, so hopefully, this helps someone else out.

Getting Started – Finding the Right Stuff
First, I needed to actually find the augment option. It’s not like it’s flashing neon signs at you. I had to go into the Echo interface – you know, where you equip those monster things you capture. Then you have to select an Echo and there’s where you see it, like a little sub-menu option, “Augment”. Click that bad boy.
The Nitty-Gritty – Substats and RNG
This is where things got… interesting. See, each Echo has these things called “substats.” Think of them like bonus stats on top of the main one. When you augment, you’re basically gambling. You’re praying to the RNG gods that you’ll enhance a stat you actually want.
I started by consuming, a bunch of other Echoes I didn’t need. It shows you percentage of enhancing the substat. I was aiming to improve the substat, and some of my other Echoes, so those were my first victims.
- Step 1: I Picked the worst Echoes in my inventory. Seriously, the ones with awful stats.
- Step 2: selected them in the augment interface.
- Step 3: Hit “Augment” and watched the magic (or, you know, the code) happen.
The Result – Sweet, Sweet Victory (Sometimes)
I’ve done a few rounds of this, and it’s definitely a bit of a rollercoaster. One time, I got a huge, and I was pretty stoked. Another time… well, let’s just say it wasn’t so great. My crit rate barely budged. It’s all random, so you gotta be prepared for some disappointment.
But, when it does work, it’s amazing. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in Jiyan performance. I’m still experimenting, it is a long time consuming work. But that’s my experience with the augment system so far. It’s a bit of a grind, a bit of a gamble, but potentially very powerful!
