Alright, so I was digging around a bit today, just looking into some folks, and Hayden Springer’s name came up. Got me thinking, where did this guy actually play his college golf? You hear names, but sometimes the details get fuzzy, you know?

So, I started poking around online. Just typing his name in, seeing what popped up. First thing I saw mentioned Texas Tech. Okay, cool, makes sense. Big school, good golf program. I figured, alright, Red Raider, that’s the story.
But then, I stumbled onto something kinda neat. While he was at Texas Tech, apparently right when he got there, like, first day stuff, he met the woman who’d become his wife, Emma. She was on the women’s golf team there. Pretty cool little detail, finding your future wife on day one of college. You don’t hear that every day.
Digging a Little Deeper
So, I thought, “Texas Tech, met his wife, case closed.” But you know how it is, sometimes you click one more thing, or scroll a bit further. And yeah, turns out that wasn’t the whole picture.
He didn’t actually finish his college career at Texas Tech. It seems he made a move later on.
- Started at Texas Tech.
- Met his wife Emma there.
- Then transferred.
Where did he go? Found out he ended up playing for TCU. The Horned Frogs. So, he wore the scarlet and black first, then the purple and white.

It’s just interesting how you piece these things together. You see one school name, assume that’s it, but nope. There was a switch involved. Texas Tech first, then TCU to wrap up his college days. Good to get the full story straight in my head. Just takes a little bit of looking sometimes, instead of just grabbing the first answer you see.
