Alright, let’s talk Clash Royale 2v2 decks. Been messing around with this mode a bunch lately, and I’ve got some thoughts and decks that have been working pretty well for me. This ain’t no pro guide, just my own experience, so take it with a grain of salt.

First off, 2v2 is a whole different beast than 1v1. You gotta think about synergy, not just your own deck, but also what your teammate might be running. Communication is key, but let’s be real, most random teammates ain’t chatting. So, gotta run decks that are flexible.
My Go-To 2v2 Decks (that I’ve actually used!)
- The Classic Beatdown: Giant + Witch + Support
- The Hog Cycle Hybrid: Hog Rider + Fireball + Cheap Troops
- The Control Deck (if I’m feeling fancy): PEKKA + Executioner + Tornado
- The Spell Cycle Cheese (when I’m feeling trolly): Goblin Barrel + Rocket + Mirror
Started with this classic. Giant in front, Witch behind spitting out skeletons, and then whatever support I can afford – Valkyrie, Musketeer, even a Bomber works. Key here is overwhelming the opponent with sheer numbers. If my teammate throws in a splash damage dealer, even better!
This one’s faster paced. Hog Rider for quick attacks, Fireball for defense and taking out support troops. Then cycle through cheap troops like Goblins, Skeletons, and Ice Spirit to defend and support the Hog. Relies on my teammate having solid defense.
Okay, this is trickier. PEKKA is the main tank and damage dealer, but she’s slow. Executioner + Tornado is the classic combo for dealing with swarms. I use this when I see my teammate is playing something aggressive. My job is to control the battlefield and support their pushes.
Don’t judge me! This is just for fun. Goblin Barrel onto the tower, Rocket anything that gets close, and Mirror those spells for extra damage. It’s a gamble, and it pisses people off, but when it works, it really works. (Don’t use this if you actually want to win reliably.)

So, the Giant + Witch combo, I literally just threw that together because I had those cards leveled up. The first few games were rough, kept getting countered hard. But then I started paying attention to what my teammate was playing and adjusting my support troops accordingly. If they had a splash damage dealer, I’d focus on single-target damage. If they were all offense, I’d try to play more defensively.
The Hog cycle, that’s all about speed. Gotta keep the pressure on, force the opponent to react. The biggest challenge there is elixir management. Easy to get caught with your pants down if you overcommit. Fireball placement is also crucial. Gotta hit those support troops before they can take out your Hog.
PEKKA Control is the most demanding, honestly. It requires good elixir management and awareness of what both teams are doing. The Executioner/Tornado combo is your bread and butter for defense, but you gotta time it right. And you gotta be ready to defend the PEKKA when she finally crosses the bridge. I’ve been practicing to PEKKA placement to ensure that she can buy sometime to my teammate to either support me or defend the other lane.
And the Spell Cycle? Yeah, that’s just chaos. Don’t take it seriously. It’s fun to mess around with, but it’s not a consistent strategy. My thought process there is, can I win before they figure out what I’m doing? Usually not, but sometimes… sometimes…
Lessons Learned (the hard way!)

- Don’t Overlap Roles: If your teammate is already playing a tank, don’t play another tank. You’ll just clog up the lane and waste elixir.
- Support Your Teammate: Pay attention to what they’re doing and try to complement their strategy. Don’t just play your own game.
- Be Ready to Defend: 2v2 is often a race to see who can defend better. Don’t get tunnel vision on offense.
- Don’t Rage Quit: Seriously, it’s just a game. Even if your teammate is terrible, just try to have fun. (Unless they’re deliberately sabotaging, then maybe it’s okay to leave.)
Anyways, that’s my 2v2 experience so far. I’m still experimenting, still learning. If you’ve got any killer deck ideas, let me know! Always looking for new ways to dominate (or at least not completely suck) in 2v2.
