My Dive into the Madcap Moss Thing
So, the other day, I kept hearing the name Madcap Moss pop up. Mostly from folks online talking about wrestling stuff. I remembered the guy, kinda goofy, always telling jokes with that other fella, Happy Corbin. But then people were saying he changed, got serious or something. Curiosity got the better of me, you know how it is.

I figured, alright, let’s see what this is all about. I didn’t have much planned, so I decided to actually sit down and track this change myself. See if it was any good, or just another weird wrestling idea.
First off, I needed the ‘before’ picture. Fired up the old laptop and started searching for clips of him with Corbin. Took a bit of digging, lots of short videos and highlight reels. Watched him telling those jokes, wearing the suspenders and the loud shirts. Honestly, some of it was kinda funny at first, but man, it got old quick. Very repetitive. You could see why they maybe wanted a change.
Then, the ‘after’. I looked for stuff post-split with Corbin. Found videos where he was going by Riddick Moss again, I think? Looked different straight away. Gear was simpler, more like standard wrestling trunks. No more goofy hat or suspenders.
Here’s what I noticed during the process:
- The Jokes Stopped: Big one, obviously. He wasn’t cracking wise anymore. His talking segments felt way more intense, focused on his opponent.
- In the Ring: He seemed more aggressive. Maybe it was just me, but his moves looked like they had a bit more snap to them. Less about antics, more about trying to win the match.
- Crowd Reaction: This was interesting. When he was Madcap, people sometimes laughed, sometimes groaned. The newer stuff? The reaction felt different, maybe a bit more respect, but also maybe less noise overall initially? Hard to tell from just clips.
I spent a good couple of hours just jumping between old clips and new ones. Trying to piece together the story they were telling with him. It wasn’t like a switch flipped overnight. There were bits where he fought Corbin, got beat up, then came back with the new attitude. Standard stuff, but seeing it play out by watching the segments back-to-back made more sense than just reading about it.

My final thought? The change felt needed. That joke gimmick had a shelf life, and it seemed like it had expired. The more serious version feels like he might have a better shot at doing something more interesting. Whether he gets the chance is another story, wrestling is weird like that. But yeah, that was my little project – digging into the whole Madcap Moss transformation. Just wanted to see it for myself instead of relying on hearsay. It was an okay way to spend an afternoon, just watching and figuring things out.
