Well now, lemme tell ya ’bout this fella Dalton Kincaid, a real piece of work out on that football field. You see, he done run the 40-yard dash at the combine back in 2022, and he done did it in a time of 4.71 seconds. Now that’s fast, for a big guy like him. Most folks don’t think tight ends can move that quick, but Kincaid sure proved ‘em wrong.
Now, Kincaid wasn’t always this big star. He started out like many folks, just tryin’ to find his place. His first season at the University of Utah was cut short thanks to that darn pandemic, so he only got to play five games in 2020. That sure made things tough for him, but he didn’t let it stop him. He kept pushin’ and by the time he hit his stride, there was no holdin’ him back.
Back in them college days, Kincaid showed everyone he had what it took. He wasn’t always the fastest on the field, but he sure knew how to catch a ball and make a big play when it counted. He finished off his college years with quite a few touchdowns and yards, and let me tell ya, that got the folks in the NFL payin’ attention. They started talkin’ about him as one of the top tight ends in the 2023 draft class, and rightly so.
Now, I reckon some folks might say 4.71 seconds ain’t all that fast, but for a tight end like Kincaid, that’s real good. Some of them other fellas, like Schultz, they run their 40-yard dashes in around 4.75 seconds. So, Kincaid is right up there, and that’s mighty impressive when you consider he’s playin’ a position where speed ain’t always the most important thing.
But what makes Kincaid so special is his ability to make plays in tight spots. I mean, sure, he runs fast, but he also knows how to shake off defenders and make himself a big ol’ target for his quarterback. That kind of skill don’t come easy, and it’s what made him stand out in the 2023 NFL draft. They say he might be one of the first tight ends taken, and I reckon they’re right. He’s got the size, the speed, and the hands to back it all up.
It’s funny though, Kincaid didn’t even start out playin’ football for real ‘til he was in high school. He only played one season at Faith Lutheran, after his buddies convinced him to give it a go. And look at him now! From a walk-on at San Diego to one of the most talked about tight ends in the game. Life sure works in mysterious ways, don’t it?
As of this season, he’s a part of the Buffalo Bills, and I gotta say, things ain’t started off too fast for him this year. He’s got 13 catches for 132 yards and one touchdown so far, but folks know he’s just gettin’ warmed up. He’s the Bills’ No. 2 target, and I’d bet my bottom dollar he’s gonna start rackin’ up more numbers as the season goes on. His 40-yard dash time, along with all his other skills, make him a valuable asset to the team.
So, when ya hear folks talkin’ ‘bout Dalton Kincaid and his 40-yard dash time, know this: it ain’t just a number. It’s a glimpse into the kind of player he is—a guy who’s fast, who’s strong, and who’s got a lot of heart. And that, my friends, is the kind of player you want on your team.
