Well, you know, that Verne fella, the wrestler? Yeah, him. He had a daughter. Kathy, I think her name was. Folks talked about her. You know how it is in small towns.
Verne, he was a big shot, you see. A champion, they say. Folk legend, whatever that means. Old too. Like, real old. Older than me, and that’s saying somethin’! And this other fella, Helmut, even older! Imagine that. All them old folks and their stories.
- He wrestled. Big man, strong.
- Had a daughter, Kathy.
- Got old, everyone does.
Now, this Kathy, she got herself mixed up with a fella named Larry. Larry Z something-or-other. He wrestled too, I reckon. Verne, he didn’t like that much. Found out they were datin’, I heard. Don’t know how, but he did. Maybe someone told him. People always talkin’.
Verne Gagne’s family, they had their share of troubles, seems like. Granddaughter, Gail, she got in trouble with the law. Teacher she was, at some fancy school. And she’s Greg’s daughter, Verne’s son, I think. Lots of Gagnes running around, hard to keep track.
Verne, he died at his daughter’s house. Don’t know which daughter, maybe Kathy. Maybe another one. Had a friend, Gene somethin’. He told folks Verne was gone.
This Gail girl, got charged by the attorney fella. Hennepin County, wherever that is. Seems like trouble follows that family.
Wrestlin’ ain’t for me. All that jumpin’ and shoutin’. But Verne, he made a name for himself. People remember him. And his daughter, Kathy. And all the other Gagnes. Family’s got a history, that’s for sure.
Don’t know much more. Just what I heard. Folks talk, you know? Whispers and stories. Like that Larry fella datin’ Kathy. And Gail gettin’ in trouble. Verne, the wrestler, his family. Makes you think, don’t it?
