Alright, listen up, y’all. Let me tell ya about what happened with them wrestling folks last night. I ain’t too good with names, but I’ll do my best. They was punchin’ and kickin’ and flippin’ all over the place. It was somethin’ else, I tell ya.
So, first off, there was this fella, Ethan Page, I think they called him. He was wrestlin’ against some young’un, Axiom, was it? Anyhow, Ethan, he won. He’s goin’ to somethin’ called “Deadline” now. Don’t ask me what that is, sounds fancy though. He fought real hard, that Ethan, like a bull in a china shop, he was.
Then there was this girl, Fallon Henley. She’s got a belt, a big shiny one. Means she’s the champ, I reckon. She was fightin’ another girl, Tatum Paxley, and then another one named Kelani Jordan. Fallon, she kept that belt. She’s tough, that one. Reminds me of my ol’ Bessie cow, always kickin’ and fightin’ for her spot.
- Jaida Parker beat Lola Vice in a real rough match. They called it “hardcore.” Sounded painful, all that bangin’ and crashin’.
- And then there was that Trick Williams fella. He’s a popular one, the crowd was yellin’ for him. He teamed up with an old-timer, Bubba Ray Dudley, I think. They fought against Ethan Page again, and some big fella, Ridge Holland. Don’t rightly know who won that one, too much goin’ on.
- Oh, and Trick, he won somethin’ else too. An “Iron Survivor Challenge,” they said. Sounds like he’s a real tough cookie.
There was also this Tony D’Angelo fella fightin’ for another belt, the North American one, they called it. He was up against Shawn Spears. I don’t rightly know who came out on top in that one, there were so many fights, it’s hard to keep track.
And the main event, that was somethin’ special. Ilja Dragunov, he was fightin’ Baron Corbin. Ilja, he kept his belt, the NXT Championship. He’s the big cheese, I guess. Folks were goin’ wild for him, cheerin’ and clappin’.
Now, they say on the TV that this WWE NXT show, it beat some other wrestlin’ show, AEW Dynamite. They been beatin’ ’em for a while now, seems like. More folks watchin’ the NXT, I guess. It’s on Tuesdays, they say, on somethin’ called “The CW.” Don’t ask me, I just watch when my grandson puts it on.
And let me tell ya, these wrestlers, they put on a show. They’re jumpin’ and flyin’ and slammin’ each other all over the place. It’s like a real-life cartoon, but with more sweat and grunts. I don’t know how they do it, these youngsters. They must be made of rubber and steel, I tell ya.
So that’s about it, what I remember from last night’s wrestlin’. It was a whole lot of hootin’ and hollerin’, and folks gettin’ thrown around like ragdolls. Not my cup of tea, usually, but it’s somethin’ to watch, I suppose. Gets the blood pumpin’, even for an old lady like me. Now, where’s that cup of tea I made? All this talkin’ made me thirsty.
