[Body]
Alright, let’s talk about this Baker Mayfield fella and his college days, ya know, like them young’uns do before they get to the big leagues. I heard tell he was quite the somethin’ back then, played for a bunch of schools, or so they say. Don’t rightly remember all the names, but I reckon I can piece it together.
High School Champ, They Say
First off, they say he was a big deal in high school, Lake Travis High School, somethin’ like that. Led ’em to some championship in 2011, a real star, I guess. Then he went off to college, Texas Tech was the first one, if I ain’t mistaken. But he didn’t stick around there long, moved on to Oklahoma, a bigger school, I reckon.
Oklahoma Star, Big Man on Campus
Now, Oklahoma, that’s where he really made a name for himself. Folks say he was a quarterback, the one who throws the ball, you know? Big fella, 6-1 they say, and 220 pounds. That’s a whole lotta man, let me tell ya. He played real good there, they say he even won some trophy, the Heisman, they call it. Folks was real excited about him.
- Heisman Voting: Folks say he was good. Real good. Came in fourth one year, then third, and then, bam! First place in 2017. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? He must’ve been throwin’ that ball real purdy.
- Big and Strong: Like I said, 6-1, 220 pounds. That’s a big boy, the kind that could probably haul hay all day long and still have energy to chase them young’uns around. They say he was quick too, for a big fella.
- Drafted High: All that good play in college got him noticed, see? First round draft pick, they say. That means the big teams wanted him, paid him a whole lotta money, I bet. He went on to play for Tampa Bay, that’s in Florida, I think.
College Football and Flag Plantin’, Whatever That Is
Now, they talk about college football bein’ a big deal, some kinda rivalry thing. And somethin’ about plantin’ flags, I don’t rightly understand it. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss to me. But this Mayfield fella, he was right in the middle of it, seems like. They still talk about it, even now that he’s in the big leagues. Guess he made quite the impression, that boy did.
From College to the Pros, Big Time Stuff
So, he went from high school star to college hero to big-time pro player. That’s quite the journey, ain’t it? They say he’s still playin’ for Tampa Bay, throwin’ that ball around. And folks still remember him from his college days, that Oklahoma team. He must’ve been somethin’ special, this Baker Mayfield.
He Remembered, They Remember
You know, it’s funny how folks remember things. They remember him from way back when, talkin’ about his college games like it was yesterday. And he remembers too, they say. He talks about them college days, about the rivalries and the games. Guess it meant somethin’ to him, just like it meant somethin’ to the folks watchin’. That’s how it is with sports, I reckon. It gets people all riled up and excited. And this Baker Mayfield, he sure did his share of riled up and excitin’, seems like.
Still Playing and Still Being Talked About
And even now, while this young man is playin’ for Tampa Bay Buccaneers, folks still mention his college time. Nowadays, even on TV, you can see this Baker Mayfield #6 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers warms up before a game, and the man on TV, Kirk Herbstreit they call him, he talks about when Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was playing for Oklahoma in 2017 and what happened then, what Baker thought about it, and so on. Well, I guess that means he did some impressive things back then if folks still remember them.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. A high school champ, a college star, and now a pro player. That Baker Mayfield, he’s somethin’ else, they say.
