Alright, let’s talk about them fellas from the TV, the wrestlers, you know, the ones from back in the 80s and 90s. My grandkids, they watch that new stuff, but I tell ya, it ain’t the same. These old timers, they were somethin’ else.
First off, you gotta talk about Hulk Hogan. Big fella, muscles everywhere. He’d rip his shirt, yell a lot, and everyone went wild. He was like a superhero, you know? Always winnin’, always tellin’ ya to say your prayers and eat your vitamins. Good guy, that Hulk.
Then there was “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Oh, he was somethin’. Colorful outfits, always yellin’ “Oooooh yeah!” He’d jump off the ropes, all kinds of crazy stuff. And that pretty lady, Miss Elizabeth, she was always with him. They were a pair, those two.
- And don’t forget Ric Flair! “Wooooo!” That’s what he’d yell. He was all fancy, with his robes and his talkin’. He’d say he was the best, and you know what? A lot of folks believed him. He wrestled everyone, everywhere. Tough fella, that Ric.
- Then you got Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Pink and black, that was his thing. Wrestled all over the world, Canada, Japan, you name it. He was good, real good. Technician, they called him. Not just muscles, but brains too.
And the 90s, they brought in some new fellas. Stone Cold Steve Austin, he was a wild one. Stompin’ around, drinkin’ beer, didn’t listen to nobody. “Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!” That’s what he’d say. Folks loved him, even though he was kinda mean.
The Rock, now he was somethin’ different. Talkin’ about cookin’ and smellin’ what The Rock was cookin’. He was funny, but he could fight too. Went on to be a big movie star, you know? Good for him, I say.
And Shawn Michaels, he was another one. Good lookin’ fella, could really move in that ring. They called him the Heartbreak Kid. Had some great matches, him and Bret Hart, those were somethin’ to see. Always jumpin around and flyin all over the place.
There were so many others, you know? Roddy Piper, always playin’ that bagpipe music. Jake “The Snake” Roberts, with that big ol’ snake, scared the bejeezus outta me, I tell ya. Dusty Rhodes, the common man, talkin’ about hard times. Goldberg, big and strong, didn’t talk much, just beat people up. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, tough as nails.
Them fellas, they weren’t just wrestlin’, they were puttin’ on a show. They made ya believe, you know? Made ya cheer, made ya boo. They were part of the family, almost. Every week, you’d turn on the TV and there they were. They made it fun, and they made it real. Them 80s and 90s wrestlers, they were special. They fought hard, and they made you feel something. Not like these youngsters today, all fancy moves and no heart.
I tell ya, those were the good ol’ days. Wrestling was wrestling back then. None of this fancy stuff. Just good guys, bad guys, and a whole lotta fightin’. And the best part was they all seemed like real people with real emotions, it wasn’t just a show it was a whole feeling. And that’s why we still remember them fellas, even after all these years.
