Alright, let’s talk about them golf fellas at the Masters, ya know, the big tournament. I heard some folks sayin’ somethin’ about “average pars” and such. Don’t know much about fancy words, but I reckon it means how many times they hit the ball just right, not too fancy, not too bad, just… average.
So, how many of these “pars” did they make? Well, this year, at the 2024 Masters, they say there were a whole heap of ’em, like 3202 pars! That’s a lot, ain’t it? Now, last year, they had fewer players, so they made fewer pars, around 3029. But if you look at it per player, it’s kinda the same, like about 10 or so pars each round.
Them smart folks who keep track of this stuff, they say if a fella wants to win this Masters thing, he gotta be shootin’ pretty low, like 11-under par overall. That’s been the way since way back when, like in the 1990s. Before that, I guess it was a bit different, but that’s history, and I ain’t no history teacher, ya know.

And the fellas who make a lot of ’em, they’re the ones who got a good chance of winnin’ that big green jacket, or whatever it is they give ’em at the Masters.

Anyway, that’s what I make of it all. Them fellas hit the ball, sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes just right. And that’s what makes it interestin’, I guess. All them numbers and scores, it can get a bit confusin’, but as long as they’re hittin’ them pars, they’re doin’ alright.
