You know, I’ve been watchin’ that Nickeil Alexander-Walker feller play basketball for a while now. Folks been talkin’ ’bout him, sayin’ he’s got some good moves, but I reckon some might not really know much ’bout him. So, let me tell ya a little somethin’ ’bout his stats and what I’ve seen of him playin’. He ain’t no superstar yet, but he’s been around the league for a bit now, and you can tell he’s workin’ on it.
Now, Nickeil, he plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves right now, but he ain’t always been there. Nah, he’s played with the Utah Jazz and the New Orleans Pelicans too. Been bouncin’ around a bit, like a lotta players do. Started his NBA journey back in 2019, and he’s been in the league for 5 seasons, so he’s got a bit of experience under his belt already. He’s a shooting guard, mostly, which means he’s out there lookin’ to make them shots, ya know? Like a cowboy aim in’ for a bullseye. And sometimes he don’t miss, other times, well… he sure don’t hit ’em all.
Now, you might be wonderin’ how good this feller is when it comes to scoring points. Well, over the years, he’s been average’n around 8.3 points a game. Ain’t too shabby, but he ain’t blowin’ up the scoreboard neither. Sometimes he has them games where he’s got good numbers, but other times, he don’t score much at all. There’s been games where he’s missed a bunch, like that one time when he didn’t score a single point, not even a free throw! I reckon that’s tough on a feller’s confidence, but that’s just how the game goes sometimes.
What I really like about Nickeil, though, is he don’t just rely on shootin’ them basketballs. He does a bit of everything. If you look at his assists, well, he’s not bad there either. He can pass the ball around when he needs to, help his team out, and get some good looks for his teammates. Ain’t always about just scoring for a team, ya know? Sometimes it’s about movin’ the ball, gettin’ the defense off balance. That’s smart playin’, even if it don’t always show up on the score sheet.
Now, as for his rebounds, well, I’ve seen him fight for a few, but he ain’t the tallest feller out there. I reckon he ain’t gonna get as many boards as some of the bigger guys. But he gives it a try when he’s on the court, mixin’ it up with the big boys under the basket. But don’t expect him to be snatchin’ rebounds like them 7-foot centers, that’s for sure.
One thing I do know is that Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s got the heart of a competitor. He plays hard, gives his best out there, and tries to improve every season. He’s also got some good family behind him. You see, his cousin is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a real big shot in the NBA these days. They say Nickeil and Shai are real close, and maybe that keeps him goin’ when times get tough. Can’t hurt to have someone like that in your corner, I reckon.
So, what’s next for ol’ Nickeil? Well, he’s still workin’ at it, and like any player, he’s gotta keep pushin’. Sometimes he shines, sometimes he don’t, but that’s just part of the game. He’s got the potential, and if he keeps his head in the game and works on them weak spots, who knows? Maybe he’ll be one of the big names in a few years.
So that’s all I got for now, folks. If you wanna follow his career, well, just keep an eye on the Minnesota Timberwolves, ‘cause that’s where he’s playin’ these days. Nickeil Alexander-Walker might not be a household name yet, but he’s out there givin’ it his all, and that’s all you can really ask for.
