Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Tank Davis fella and when he’s gonna fight next. You know, that young man who punches real hard? Yeah, him.
So, I heard tell, this Tank, he was supposed to fight some fella named Roach back in December, you know, before Christmas and all that. But then, wouldn’t you know it, they went and changed it. Postponed it, they said. Like when the rain comes and you can’t get your crops in. Gotta wait, gotta wait.
Now, they’re sayin’ the fight’s gonna be on March 1st. That’s what the folks in town are chatterin’ about. March 1st, in Brooklyn, New York. Big city, that one. Heard they got buildin’s taller than the oak tree down by the creek.
This Tank fella, he’s got a belt, you see. A WBA lightweight champion, they call him. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Means he’s real good at punchin’, I reckon. And this Roach fella, he wants that belt. Gonna be a scrap, that’s for sure.
- Fight Date: March 1st
- Location: Brooklyn, New York
- Fighters: Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Lamont Roach
- Title: WBA Lightweight Championship
They’re sellin’ tickets for this here fight, too. Heard some are cheap, like, a hundred and somethin’ dollars. But some, oh my, they’re expensive! Thousands of dollars! Who in their right mind would pay that much to watch two fellas punch each other? Must be some city folk thing.
But here’s the kicker, y’all. This Tank, he says he’s gonna quit fightin’ after this one. Hang up his gloves, they say. Said he ain’t happy with boxin’ no more. Well, I can’t say I blame him. It’s a rough business, beatin’ folks up for money. Maybe he’ll go find himself a nice farm, raise some chickens. That’s a good life, a peaceful life.
So, March 1st, that’s the day. Gervonta “Tank” Davis versus Lamont Roach. Brooklyn, New York. For the WBA lightweight title. And then, maybe no more Tank. It’ll be somethin’ to watch, that’s for sure. Even us old folks out here in the country might tune in for that one. Just to see if that young fella keeps his belt or if that Roach fella takes it. Then we can get back to watchin’ the corn grow.
Now, I heard tell they might be showin’ it on somethin’ called “Prime Video pay-per-view.” Don’t know much about that, sounds like city folks’ gadgets. But if you want to see this Tank fight, I guess you gotta figure out how to get that.
I tell you what, though, it’ll be somethin’ to talk about down at the general store. We’ll all be arguin’ about who’s gonna win, just like we argue about the weather and the price of beans. Life’s like that, always somethin’ to keep you guessin’.
So there you have it. March 1st. Tank Davis. Lamont Roach. Brooklyn. One last fight. Remember that now, and you won’t miss it.
And I heard somebody was asking about another fella named Frank Martin, wondering when he’s gonna fight. Well, I don’t rightly know about that. Seems like everyone’s always talkin’ about who’s fightin’ who. Can’t keep up with it all, I tell ya. Too much punchin’ for my old bones.
