Alright, so you wanna know about them Lakers, huh? The Lakers’ starting lineup, you say? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know. Don’t expect no fancy talk, though. I just tell it like it is, ya hear?
So, first off, we gotta talk about that LeBron James fella. Yeah, that old fella, still playin’ like a young buck, sometimes. He’s gonna be startin’, that’s for sure. He’s like the rooster in the henhouse, gotta be there to get things goin’. He ain’t spring chicken no more, but he’s still strong as an ox and smart as a whip. He passes the ball real good and can still score when he wants to. LeBron, he’s gonna be doin’ his thing, you know, drivin’ to the basket, shootin’ those three-pointers, and yellin’ at the refs. He’s important, that one.
Then, there’s this Anthony Davis guy. Big fella, real tall, like a beanpole but strong as a tree. He’s the other big star. They call him AD sometimes. He’s good at gettin’ them rebounds, you know, snatchin’ the ball outta the air. And he can shoot too, and block shots. He just needs to stay healthy, that’s the problem. He gets hurt too much, like a glass doll, gotta be careful with him. When he’s healthy, he and Lebron are a tough pair, like two peas in a pod, but bigger and stronger. He’s gotta be in the lineup if they wanna win, no doubt about it.
Now, for the guard, they got this D’Angelo Russell. He’s quick, like a rabbit, and a good shooter. He can dribble the ball real good and pass it too. He’s got them fancy moves, you know, the kind that make the other guys look silly. He can score a lot of points too, when he’s on fire. Sometimes he plays good, sometimes he plays like he’s still half asleep. But when he’s playin’ good, the team plays good. He’s important for gettin’ the ball up the court and settin’ up the plays.
- LeBron James – Gotta have him, he’s the leader
- Anthony Davis – The big man, gotta stay healthy
- D’Angelo Russell – The quick guard, gotta shoot good
Alright, so who else we got? Hmm, let me think. They got this Austin Reaves kid. He’s like the farm boy, works hard and does what he’s told. He ain’t flashy, but he’s steady. He can shoot the ball and play defense. He’s one of them fellas you can always count on. He just goes out there and plays hard. He’s like the glue that holds the team together, you know? He’s important, even if he don’t get all the headlines. He’s gettin’ better and better, like a good wine. They say he’s gonna be a real star one day.
And then, for the last spot, it’s a bit of a question mark. They got a few fellas they could put in there. Maybe they use Rui Hachimura, the fella from Japan. He’s big and strong, can shoot a little too. He’s like a quiet storm, you don’t see him comin’ but he can do some damage. Or maybe they use Jarred Vanderbilt, he’s good on defense, always hustlin’, grabbin’ them rebounds. He’s like a workhorse, always runnin’ around. It depends on who they playin’ against, I guess. The coach, he’ll figure it out. He gets paid the big bucks to make them decisions.
So, there you have it. That’s what I think the Lakers’ starting lineup will be, mostly. LeBron, AD, D’Angelo, Austin, and then one of them other fellas. It ain’t set in stone, ya know. Things can change. Injuries happen, fellas get traded. But that’s what I’m guessin’ for now. They got a good team, if they can stay healthy and play together. They could win it all, or they could lose in the first round. That’s basketball for ya, you never know what’s gonna happen. It’s like farmin’, sometimes you get a good harvest, sometimes the bugs eat everything.
Anyway, that’s my two cents. Don’t go bettin’ the farm on it, though. I’m just an old woman who watches a lot of basketball. But I’ve seen a lot of games in my time, and I know a good team when I see one. And the Lakers, they got a chance to be a good team, if they play their cards right.
