Well, let me tell ya ’bout them Florida State football fellas and their championships, ya know, the big wins they had.
Them Football Boys and Their Big Wins
So, these Florida State boys, they been playin’ football for a good long while, since, shoot, 1902 or somethin’. And they done won themselves some championships, that’s for sure. They got, let me see, three of them national championships. Yep, three big ones!
- One in 1993
- Another one in 1999
- And the last one in 2013
That 1999 team, they say they was somethin’ special. ESPN, you know, the TV folks, they said they was one of the best college teams ever. And them boys, they had some good players too. Three of ’em even won that Heisman Trophy, that’s a big deal trophy for the best player. Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke, and Jameis Winston, those were their names, I think.
Now, they play in somethin’ called the ACC, a bunch of other teams, and they won a whole bunch of those conference championships too, like eighteen of ’em. And six division championships, whatever those are. They also got to that playoff thingy once. Sounds fancy, huh?
All Them Bowl Games
And talkin’ ’bout bowl games, they played in a whole heap of ’em. Forty-seven bowl games, can you believe it? Won twenty-eight, lost seventeen, and tied two, I reckon. That’s a pretty good record, even I can tell ya that. And some of them were those major bowls, the big important ones, ya know.
Comparing to Others
Now, some folks say Yale, they got the most championships, eighteen they say. And Alabama, they got sixteen. But our Florida State boys, they done good with their three. They ain’t the most, but three is somethin’ to be proud of, I tell ya.
That Miami Game
And let me tell you ’bout them Miami games. Them games was always somethin’ else, real barn burners they called ’em. Especially back in the eighties and nineties, them games was somethin’ fierce. Always a big deal when Florida State played Miami, that’s for sure.
Seventy-One Seasons of Football
These boys have been playin’ for seventy-one seasons, from 1954 to 2024. That’s a lot of football, a lot of games. And they won a whole bunch, 558 games they won, lost 270 and tied 16. Some folks even adjust the record and say it’s 547 wins, 269 losses, and 16 ties, but that’s still a whole lot of wins if you ask me. All in all, them Florida State boys, they done real good for themselves, winnin’ them championships and playin’ in all them bowl games.
In Conclusion
So, yeah, Florida State football, they got a good history, a winning history. Three national championships, lots of bowl games, and some real good players. They ain’t always won, but they always played hard, and that’s what matters, right? They give folks somethin’ to cheer for, and that’s a good thing, a real good thing.
