Alright, so you wanna know ’bout them Husker baseball scores, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it ain’t always pretty, but it’s somethin’ we follow ’round here. We like our boys in red, that’s for sure. They play hard, sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s just how it goes, ain’t it?
Recent Games and Such
Now, I ain’t got all the fancy stats and numbers like them city folk, but I hear things on the radio and from my neighbor, Martha. She’s got one of them newfangled phones and keeps track of stuff. Just the other day, she was tellin’ me about how the Huskers played in that NCAA thingy-ma-jig, a tournament I reckon. They beat some team called Niagara. Yep, beat ’em 7 to 5. That was a good day, yessir. Kept them in the runnin’ for a bit longer.
Before that, they played Indiana, I think. Won that one too, 4 to 2. See, sometimes they can really get goin’. But then there’s times, like when they played them Hawkeyes from Iowa. Martha said they lost that one. Started out bad and couldn’t catch up, I guess. It happens. You can’t win ’em all, that’s what my grandpa used to say.
- Winning Games: Beat Niagara 7-5. Beat Indiana 4-2.
- Losing Games: Lost to Iowa. Other losses too, I’m sure, but can’t remember them all.
Big Hits and Such
Sometimes, it ain’t just about winnin’ or losin’, ya know? It’s about them good plays, them big hits. Martha was all excited about some fella named Carey. Said he smacked a home run, a two-run homer at that! Knocked it right outta the park, she said. And then there was this Overbeek fella, got another run in. That’s what we like to see, good hittin’ and gettin’ them runs across the plate. That’s what matters.
Overall Season – Pretty Good I Reckon
Now, lookin’ at the whole season, I think they did alright. Martha said somethin’ about them winnin’ 34 games and losin’ 18. And somethin’ else about 16 and 7 in their group, the Big Ten. Sounds pretty good to me. They played a whole heap of games, that’s for sure. From what I hear, they were hittin’ the ball good sometimes, scorin’ a bunch of runs. Like that one game against Michigan State, scored 11 runs! That’s a lot, even for me to understand! They even beat Minnesota too. Always feels good to beat them Golden Gophers.
Following the Huskers
You know, it ain’t always easy followin’ these games. Sometimes they’re on TV, sometimes on the radio, sometimes Martha just tells me. But we do it, ’cause we like our Huskers. They’re our team. Win or lose, we cheer ‘em on. They’re good boys, work hard, and that’s all you can ask for. We’re proud of ‘em, that’s for sure.
More than Just Baseball
And it ain’t just baseball, ya know. They got all sorts of sports at that there University of Nebraska. Football, basketball, volleyball, all of it. They even got a place called “Husker Power,” sounds mighty impressive. And they care about them grades too, the “academics” they call it. And the place they play, the “facilities,” those are nice too, from what I hear. They got recruiters lookin’ for good players and they help ‘em after they’re done playin’ too, with that “post-eligibility” stuff. It’s a whole big thing, this Husker sports thing.
Looking Ahead
So, what’s next for the Huskers? Well, I reckon they’ll keep playin’, keep tryin’ to win. That’s all you can do. And we’ll keep watchin’ and listenin’ and cheerin’ ’em on. That’s what fans do. And hopefully, they’ll win more games than they lose next year. That’s what we’re all hopin’ for. We just want our boys to do good and make us proud. And they usually do, even when they lose, they play hard. That’s the Husker way, I reckon. So go on now, keep an eye on them Huskers, they’re somethin’ special.
Final Thoughts
So yeah, that’s the lowdown on the Husker baseball scores, as best as I can tell ya. It ain’t fancy, but it’s honest. And that’s what matters, right? Just good, honest baseball, and good, honest folks cheerin’ ‘em on. That’s what it’s all about.
