Alright, let’s talk about this Rufus Fury thingy in Destiny 2, the one they say is good for PvE. I ain’t no fancy gamer, ya know, just an old woman who likes shootin’ aliens in this here game. But I hear things, and I shoot a lot, so I figured I’d tell ya what I know.
First off, this gun, the Rufus Fury, it drops from that raid, the Root of Nightmares. You gotta fight them big bad guys, Zo’aurc and Nezarec. Don’t ask me what they are, just shoot ‘em till they fall down. It’s a noisy business, that’s for sure. This here gun, seems like everybody wants a good one, a “god roll” they call it. Sounds fancy, but it just means it shoots good, real good.
Now, for us regular folk who just wanna kill stuff in PvE, there’s a few things you want on this Rufus Fury. Forget all that PvP stuff, that’s for them young whippersnappers. We’re talkin’ about shootin’ aliens, and plenty of ‘em.
- Barrel: They say you want somethin’ to control that kick, that recoil. Makes sense, right? If the gun’s jumpin’ all over, you ain’t gonna hit nothin’. So, somethin’ that “Greatly controls recoil”, they say. And increases handling speed too, whatever that means. Faster is better, I always say.
- Magazine: Now, this is important. You want bullets, lots of ‘em. And them bullets gotta go fast and straight. Some folks like them Ricochet Rounds, makes the bullets bounce around. Sounds fun, but I just want more bullets in the bad guys.
- Perks: This is where it gets tricky. Too many fancy words for an old lady like me. But from what I gather, you want perks that work together. Like, there’s this “Demo” perk. They say it gives you grenade energy when you kill somethin’. And then, if you use your grenade, you get a reload. That’s handy, see? Always shootin’, always killin’.
And then, there’s this other perk called “Frenzy”. That one, they say, makes your gun do more damage after you been shootin’ for a while. So, you start shootin’, you get your grenade back, you use your grenade, you reload fast, and then you do even more damage. Sounds like a good deal to me. They say it gives you a 15% damage buff and makes your gun feel better in your hands, 100 Handling/Reload, whatever that means.
Some folks also talk about “One for All” (OFA) and “Target Lock”. They say OFA is good if you like to throw grenades all the time and make things go boom with fancy new light subclasses. If you ain’t doing that, stick to the Demo and Frenzy, that’s what I say. Now, Target Lock, that one makes your gun do more damage the longer you shoot at the same bad guy. Good for those big, tough fellas that take a while to go down.
They say there is also an Adept version of this gun. You gotta do a challenge on Master difficulty, whatever that is, to get it. Sounds hard. But if you can get it, it’s supposed to be even better. More perks, better stats, all that fancy stuff.
So, to sum it up, for a good PvE Rufus Fury, you want a barrel that controls recoil, a magazine that holds lots of bullets, and perks like Demo and Frenzy. That’s what the youngins online are hollerin’ about anyway. That way, you can shoot more, kill more, and have more fun. And ain’t that what this whole game is about? Shoot the bad guys, get the loot, and do it all again. That’s what this old lady does, and it works just fine for me.
Remember, this is just what I hear from them youngins and from shootin’ a whole bunch myself. You gotta find what works best for you. But if you’re looking for a good place to start, this here info ain’t half bad. Now, go out there and shoot some aliens, and don’t forget to have fun doing it.
And one more thing, this whole thing about “god roll”, don’t get too hung up on it. Just find a gun that shoots straight and kills the bad guys, and you’ll be just fine. That’s what I always say. Good enough is good enough.
