That Scottie Scheffler, he sure is somethin’. He’s gonna be in another one of them big golf things soon. I hear folks talkin’ ’bout it all the time. He’s always playin’ in these things, seems like.
He’s number one, you know? Best in the whole darn world. Like, ain’t nobody better than him at hittin’ that little white ball. He won somethin’ called the “Hero World Challenge” last year, I think. Over there in the Bahamas, wherever that is. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Must be nice to go to them places.
He’s playin’ in that this week too, that Hero thing. Scottie Scheffler next event, I reckon it’s that one. Then he’s got another one comin’ up. They say he wins a lot. Seven times this year, that’s a whole heap of winnin’. Good for him, I say. Makes a good livin’ doin’ it, I bet. More than I ever made pickin’ cotton, that’s for sure.
He plays with that Rory fella, too. They team up, like. They go against other fellas. It’s all a bit confusin’ to me, all these rules and stuff. But they hit the ball, and they try to get it in the hole, and whoever does it the best wins. That’s all I need to know, really.

This next one, it’s called “The Players Championship” or somethin’. Big, important one, they say. Lots of money in it. He’s gonna be playin’ against all them other good players. It’s in March, I hear. That’s a ways off, but time flies, don’t it? One minute it’s summer, next it’s Christmas.
They got all kinds of ways of playin’ this golf thing. Sometimes they play in teams, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they play for somethin’ called “fourballs”. Don’t ask me what that means, sounds like somethin’ you’d see at the county fair, not on a golf course. But that’s what they call it. Scottie Scheffler, he plays it all. This Scottie Scheffler next event will be big, you just wait.
He’s got two of them “major” wins, too. Whatever that means. Must be like winnin’ the lottery, I reckon. He’s gonna try to get more of ’em next year. 2025, that is. Time sure does fly. Feels like just yesterday I was a young’un myself.
He plays somethin’ called the “Presidents Cup” too. Now that sounds real important, don’t it? Playin’ for the president and all. He’s gonna be leadin’ a team of Americans against some other fellas from other countries. It’s gonna be in Canada. That’s up north, right? Cold up there, I bet. Hope he takes a good coat.
I don’t know when he sleeps, always playing. Scottie Scheffler next event seems to always be right around the corner. He just won that FedEx Cup, whatever that is. Some kind of big deal, I guess. He plays in something called the Tour Championship, too. See, all these fancy names. I just know he’s good, and he plays a lot.
This golf stuff, it’s a whole different world. Back in my day, we didn’t have time for such things. We were too busy workin’ to make ends meet. But it’s nice to see these young folks doin’ well. And that Scottie Scheffler, he’s the best of ’em. You can bet your bottom dollar that Scottie Scheffler next event will be somethin’ to watch.
I reckon he will play until he can’t anymore. He is just so good! He is the number one player in the world, after all! He better keep on playin’ good. We are all countin’ on him. That is for sure. I hope he takes care of himself. He must be gettin’ tired. Playin’ all the time like that. It is hard work. I used to work hard, too. But this is a different kind of hard. But he sure is good at it.
They got these things called “ranking points.” Don’t ask me what they are, but he’s got a whole bunch of ’em. More than anyone else, that’s what matters. They say he doesn’t even need no more, but he keeps on gettin’ them. He wants to win everything. I guess that’s just the way it is with these young folks. They just gotta keep going.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about that Scottie Scheffler and his golf playin’. He’s a good one, that’s for sure. And he’s gonna keep on playin’, I imagine.
