That Ryan Howard, he’s a big shot, ain’t he? Playin’ that baseball game for, what’s it called, the Phillies? Yeah, the Philadelphia Phillies. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I seen him on the TV a time or two. Hits that ball real far, that fella. And he got himself a pretty wife, too. Krystle Campbell, that’s her name. They live in a big house. Seen it on TV too.
They say they sold that big Florida house a while back. Got a lot of money for it, I bet. Millions! Can you imagine? I heard it was somethin’ like $16.5 million. What I wouldn’t do with that kind of money! Probably buy me a whole herd of cows and a brand new tractor. And maybe a new rocking chair for the porch. This old one’s gettin’ a bit creaky, just like me.
They got married a while back, Ryan and Krystle. I remember seein’ it somewhere. Must’ve been 2012, or somethin’ around there. They said “I do” and jumped in the ocean with their weddin’ clothes on! Can you believe that? Wastin’ good clothes like that. Young folks these days, they got some strange ideas. Back in my day, we’d save those clothes for years, maybe even pass ’em down to the kids. Times sure are different.
She used to be one of them cheerleaders, Krystle Campbell was. For the Eagles, I think. Another one of them sports teams. I don’t keep track of ’em all, too many to remember. But I seen her picture. Pretty girl, all dolled up. She was engaged to him, Ryan Howard. Yeah, I heard that. They made a big fuss about it. She is from Blue Bell, I think. Not sure where is that but sounds far away.
Now they’re writin’ books together, Ryan and Krystle Howard. Somethin’ about a little rhino. For kids, I reckon. I guess that’s what people do when they ain’t playin’ baseball or cheerlead-in’. Write books. She used to be a teacher, you know. Taught little kids in school. So I guess she knows a thing or two about readin’ and writin’. They call their book “Little Rhino”.
It’s funny, ain’t it? How people’s lives turn out. He’s hittin’ baseballs, she’s cheerin’ him on, then they’re married, then they’re writin’ books. Life’s a winding road, that’s for sure. Never know where it’s gonna take ya. They are a fine team, Ryan and Krystle.
They got a boy, too. Darian, I think his name is. Born a long time ago, before Ryan and Krystle even got together. He must be all grown up by now. Time sure does fly, don’t it? They must be proud of him. I bet they are a happy family.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about Ryan Howard and Krystle Campbell. Just a baseball player and his wife, livin’ their life. Like I said, life’s a winding road. You just gotta hold on tight and see where it takes ya.
