Okay, so, I was playing Baldur’s Gate 3 the other day, and I got to this part called the Arcane Tower. It’s pretty cool, but there’s this robot dude named Bernard at the top, and he’s kind of a pain if you don’t know what you’re doing.
First, I found this tower. It’s all magical and stuff. The way to get to the bottom is jumping on these giant mushrooms. These mushrooms, they’re like nature’s bouncy castles, seriously. I spent a good chunk of time just hopping around, feeling like a kid again.
Finally, I reached the bottom. There’s this huge tree down there. I picked up some flowers from it – you’ll need these later, trust me.
- Jumped on the mushrooms to get to the bottom.
- Found the tree and grabbed some flowers.
After that, I headed into the tower. I found the power generator thingy and put the flowers in. Boom! Power’s back on. Now, the elevator’s working, and I took it all the way to the top.
Facing Bernard
Up there, I met Bernard. He’s this construct, kind of like a robot, and he starts quoting these dramatic lines from plays and poems. Turns out, he’s the tower’s defense system. If you don’t give him the right answers, he attacks you. And let me tell you, he’s not easy to beat.
Luckily, I read some books earlier in the tower. One of them is called “The Roads to Darkness.” That book gave me a hint. I remembered a line from it and said it to Bernard: “Or art thou friend, a rescue from my lonely wake.”
There are other books scattered around, too. If you read them, you’ll get more lines to use. It’s like a secret code. I found another book, and responded to Bernard with a line from that one, too. And just like that I figured it out.
Bernard calmed down, and I was able to get through without a fight. It felt pretty good, figuring out the puzzle instead of just smashing everything. It’s kind of like a test. If you take the time to explore and read, you get rewarded. Anyway, that’s how I got past Bernard in the Arcane Tower. Hope this helps someone out there!
