So, I was messing around with MLB The Show 23 the other day. My grandkids, they’re always glued to this game, and I like to check in on them, see what they’re up to.
This time, I wanted to try out the “legend stances” thing. You know, make my players bat like the old-time greats. Figured it would be a fun little experiment.
- First, I jumped into the game and started poking around the menus. It took me a minute to find where the stances were hiding.
- Then, I picked out a few legends whose stances I recognized, like Babe Ruth, and assigned them to my players.
Getting those stances just right was a bit tricky, though. Some of them have these little quirks, like a wiggle or a tap of the bat, and I spent a good chunk of time trying to get the timing down.
It was pretty funny watching my created player trying to mimic these old-school stances. Some of them looked kinda goofy, to be honest, but it was all in good fun.
What I Learned
- I noticed that it’s kinda weird how they did some of these. Like, you pick a guy’s stance by name, but then you miss out on some of the cool animations he does when he smacks a homer.
- Also, I realized that, at least for me, sticking with the normal swings is probably the way to go. These legend stances are cool and all, but they didn’t really make me any better at the game.
In the end, it was a fun little dive into baseball history. I wouldn’t say it changed my game much, but it was cool to see my guys trying to bat like the legends. And hey, it gave me something to talk about with the grandkids.
