Today, I want to talk about my experience with “The Talos Principle 2”. This game, man, it’s a real brain-teaser. I was messing around, trying to get this one achievement, and I totally got stuck. I mean, completely lost in this puzzle, right? I think it called “switcharoo” or whatever, I can’t remember now. So, I’m trying to reset the puzzle, but some things are still disabled, like those focus fields. It’s like the game’s messing with me, you know?
So I started digging around. First thing I did, I hit ESC. There’s an option there, something like “reload from last checkpoint”. Figured that might do the trick. It basically restarts you at the beginning of the puzzle. It works, kinda, but it didn’t really solve the issue I was having with that one achievement. The stuff was still disabled! Man, I tried so many times, I almost gave up.
Then, I remembered something. In some games, you gotta go back to the start, like the very beginning of the level. So I went back to this fire button thingy at the start of the puzzle. Turns out, that’s the real reset. It clears everything, even if you’ve already solved the puzzle before. I clicked it and bam! Puzzle reset. But guess what? The achievement still didn’t pop. It’s probably bugged or something. Seriously, what a pain.
But I didn’t stop there. I’m not one to give up easily, especially when it comes to games. I right-clicked on “The Talos Principle 2” in my game library, went to “Properties,” and then “Launch Options.” There, I typed in “-WhatWouldAthenaDo Destroy” (without the quotes, of course). Don’t ask me where I found this, just some forum, ok? Some guy said it can bring up some developer’s menu or something.
After that, I started a new game. Once in, I pressed ‘N’, and boom, this weird menu showed up. There are tons of options, but what we are looking for is a button that says “Reset all puzzles”. I clicked it, and then went back to the puzzle. This time, it’s really reset, and all the focus fields are enabled again. Finally, I managed to get that achievement. It was a lot of work for one little thing, but hey, I did it!
So, if you’re ever stuck in “The Talos Principle 2”, remember these steps. It might save you a headache. Trust me, I learned it the hard way. This game is awesome, but sometimes, it can be a real head-scratcher. So next time when you want to reset a puzzle completely, you know what to do.
