Okay, so I saw this “Stephen Curry Eyes” thing trending and I was like, “What’s that all about?” I’m a big basketball fan, so anything Curry-related, I’m in. Turns out, it’s a visual exercise, supposed to help with focus and, you know, shooting like Steph. I figured, why not? I could use some improvement in my (very amateur) basketball game. So, I gave it a shot.

First, I looked up how you even DO this. Found a couple of videos. Seemed simple enough.
My “Stephen Curry Eyes” Practice Session
- Warm-up: I started with the basic one: staring at a fixed point, like a spot on the wall. Sounds easy, but holding your gaze, not blinking too much… it’s trickier than you think. I did this for, I don’t know, maybe 5 minutes? My eyes started watering a bit.
- Tracking: Next, I practiced following a moving object with just my eyes – no head movement. I had my friend waving a pen back and forth, up and down. Felt a little silly, but I * it about 3 minites.
- Focus Shifting: This one was about quickly shifting focus between near and far objects. I used a finger close to my face, then looked at something across the room, back and forth. Definitely felt like a workout for my eyes!Maybe 2 minutes.
- Peripheral:Then I put my two hands on both sides and wiggled my fingers.I stared at a fixed point, and see the fingers. I did feel my eyes get * 2 minutes.
After that, I actually went out and shot some hoops. Did it magically turn me into Steph Curry? Of course not. But, honestly, I felt… different. I won’t say my shots were perfect, because they weren’t. But I did feel a little more present, more aware of the basket, the ball, everything.
It wasn’t a massive change, but there was something there.
My Verdict: It’s not going to instantly transform your game. But I think it’s a cool little drill. It made me more conscious of my eyes and how I was looking at things, which, I guess, is a good thing for basketball, and probably life in general. I might actually keep doing this, see if it makes a bigger difference over time. Worth a try, even if it’s just to feel a bit more like Steph for a few minutes!
