Alright, so, I wanted to get my hands on those sweet Weapons of Sorrow in Destiny 2. You know, the ones like Thorn and Osteo Striga? Yeah, those bad boys. I’ve been seeing them all over the Crucible, and I figured it was time I joined the club.

Figuring Out Where to Start
First thing I did was hit up the internet, obviously. I needed to figure out which weapons were even considered “Weapons of Sorrow” and how to actually get them. Turns out, there’s a whole bunch, but some are definitely easier to snag than others.
- Thorn: This one’s a classic, and I knew it involved some kind of quest.
- Osteo Striga: I’d heard this was tied to the Witch Queen expansion, which I have, so that seemed like a good option.
- Touch of Malice: From the King’s Fall raid. Kinda intimidating, not gonna lie.
- Necrochasm: Another raid weapon, this time from Crota’s End. Also looked tough.
I decided to go for Osteo Striga first. It looked like the most straightforward path, and I was already playing through the Witch Queen campaign anyway.
The Witch Queen Grind
So, I dove headfirst into the Witch Queen campaign. I blasted through the missions, trying to level up my character and get some decent gear along the way. The story was actually pretty cool, which helped keep me motivated.
After I beat the campaign, that’s when the real work started. I found out I needed to shape the Osteo Striga at the Enclave, which meant crafting it myself. Sounded simple enough, right? Wrong!
Material Madness
Crafting this thing was a whole other level of grind. I needed all sorts of weird materials: Resonant Elements, Ruinous Elements, and a bunch of other stuff I’d never even heard of. I spent hours running around the Throne World, doing patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors, just trying to gather enough of these materials.

It was tedious, I’m not gonna lie. There were times I wanted to just give up and go back to using my trusty old hand cannon. But I kept picturing myself melting Guardians in the Crucible with that sweet, sweet poison damage, and that kept me going.
I farmed a lot, and I crafted it at the Enclave finally.
Finally, the Poison Power!
After what felt like forever, I finally had all the materials I needed. I went back to the Enclave, slapped everything together, and boom – Osteo Striga was mine! I took it for a spin in some strikes, and man, it felt good. That poison damage is no joke, and watching enemies melt away was super satisfying.
It was a long road, but totally worth it. Now, I’m ready to take on the Crucible with my new toy. Watch out, Guardians – the poison’s coming!
I crafted and shaped my destiny 2 weapon of sorrow!
