Getting Those Celtics vs. Nuggets Tickets
Alright, so the idea popped into my head – gotta see the Celtics play the Nuggets this year. Big game, right? Two top teams, figured it’d be intense. Didn’t really think much past ‘yeah, let’s get tickets’. That was the easy part.

First thing I did, jumped online. Naturally, went straight to the official team site, maybe the arena’s site too. Checked both. Ha! Should’ve known better. For a game like this? Sold out faster than you can blink. Or at least, the only seats left were nosebleeds costing an arm and a leg, or single seats scattered around. Not helpful when you’re trying to go with someone.
So, plan B. The usual suspects:
- StubHub
- SeatGeek
- Vivid Seats
- Ticketmaster Resale (sometimes)
Man, that’s where the real headache started. Prices were all over the place. You see a ticket listed for one price, click on it, go through half the checkout, and BAM! Fees. Service fees, facility fees, convenience fees, fees for breathing near the tickets, felt like. Suddenly that ‘okay’ price becomes ridiculous.
It’s a grind, honestly. Spent a good few evenings just comparing. Had like five browser tabs open, flipping back and forth. One site might have slightly cheaper seats but higher fees. Another had better seats but the price was just eye-watering from the start. You try filtering by section, by price, whatever. The map views sometimes help, sometimes they just make you dizzy looking at all the little dots.

Tried looking for different dates, maybe a weekday game would be cheaper? Nope. Celtics vs Nuggets, doesn’t matter when, people want to see it. Kept checking back too, thinking maybe someone would drop their price last minute. Sometimes that works, mostly it doesn’t. Just saw the same tickets getting relisted, sometimes even higher.
Was getting pretty fed up. Almost thought about just watching it at a bar or something. Cheaper, less hassle. But, nah, wanted the live experience for this one. Decided I just had to bite the bullet.
Found a pair on SeatGeek, I think it was. Weren’t perfect seats, upper level, cornerish. But the price, after all those stupid fees, was… well, less insane than some others. Still way more than I wanted to pay, but felt like the least bad option after hours of searching.
Went through the checkout. Double-checked everything. Made sure they were mobile tickets, easier transfer. Clicked confirm. Watched the little circle spin. Got the confirmation email. Phew. Felt like I’d run a marathon.
So, yeah. Got the tickets. Took way more effort and cash than it probably should have. The whole system feels kinda broken, designed to squeeze every last penny out of you. But hey, I’ll be at the game. That’s the main thing, I guess. Just gotta try and forget how much I paid for them by the time tip-off happens.
