Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in – another dang error code! This time it’s somethin’ called “error code 526 bg3”. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. But my grandkids, they’re always on them computers, playin’ them video games. This one here, “bg3,” I think they call it “Baldur’s Gate 3.” Now, I ain’t never played it, but I hear them yellin’ about it all the time. Seems like a right headache if you ask me. This error 526, it’s got somethin’ to do with savin’ the game, I reckon.
One of them young’uns was hollerin’ just the other day, sayin’ they couldn’t save their game. Kept gettin’ this error 526 thing. Said it was workin’ just fine before, then poof! Error 526. They were scared to close the game, said it wouldn’t save their progress. I told ’em, “Just turn the darn thing off!” But they wouldn’t listen. Kids these days, they don’t know nothin’. If you exit the game, nothing will be saved. So don’t keep playing.
I did a little snoopin’ around, asked around the neighborhood what this “error code 526 bg3” might be. Turns out, it’s a common problem, this error 526. Lots of folks gettin’ it. Old Man Hemlock, he’s got a computer, too, you know. He said somethin’ about this LariLauncher thing, said you gotta add it to your “anti-virus”. Sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, right? But, Hemlock, he’s pretty sharp with these things. It can make you cannot save because of the “app permissions”. And sometimes the “anti-virus” will block it. What a mess!
He said somethin’ about the needin’ to be “trusted”. I don’t know what that means, but maybe if you tell your computer it’s okay, this error 526 will go away. Sounds like a lot of work for a silly game, don’t it?
Now, Mrs. Gable, she’s got a different idea about this error code 526 bg3. She says it might be ’cause your computer’s full. Like when your pantry’s packed to the brim, and you can’t fit another jar of pickles in there. She says you gotta make sure you got enough space on your “disk drive” – that’s where the game keeps its stuff. If you’re low on disk space, you will get error 526. Error 526 means your computer can’t make new saves. I guess that makes sense.
- Make sure got enough space on your computer.
- Check that LariLauncher thing, whatever that is.
- Tell the computer it’s okay, trust the game.
Then there’s this other error, somethin’ called error 516. Now, I ain’t seen that one myself, but I hear it’s a real pain, just like error 526. Seems like these games are just full of errors! Little Timmy next door, he got this error 516, and he was fit to be tied. Couldn’t save his game either.
Turns out, there’s a little trick to fix this error 516. It has to do with tradin’ things in the game. Don’t ask me, I don’t play the game. But apparently, if you trade with a merchant, then exit, then trade again and this time you click trade icon, then exit, the error 516 should be gone. Sounds like a lot of fiddlin’ around, if you ask me. But if it fixes error 516, I guess it’s worth a try. If you are playin’ that game and see error 516, just try that.
Another error I heard about is called error 524. It is also because your computer is full. So error 524 and error 526, they are the same, I think. These video games sure are a lot of work! When I was a girl, we played outside! We didn’t have these fancy computers with all their errors.
You know what I heard? The folks who made this “Baldur’s Gate 3” game, they ain’t makin’ any more of it. No more “expansions,” no more “DLC.” I don’t know what those words mean, but it sounds like they’re done with it. They’ll still fix some things, these “patches” they call ’em. But no more new stuff. Good riddance, I say! Maybe folks will start playin’ outside again.
Well, I hope this helps someone out there. This error code 526 bg3 is a real nuisance. Just remember what old Hemlock and Mrs. Gable said. Check your computer space, and that LariLauncher doohickey. And if all else fails, just turn the darn thing off and go outside!
