Oh, y’all ever heard of Caleb Williams? He’s a young fella, real good at that football game. Now, don’t let me fool ya, I ain’t one for fancy sports talk, but I know enough to say that boy’s got some talent! Caleb, well, he was born on November 18, 2001, in Washington, D.C. A fine city, but now he’s all over the place, playin’ football like a pro.
He’s the son of Carl Williams and Dayna Price. Now, them two folks, they been there for him through thick and thin, watchin’ him grow up and turn into one of the best college football players around. I tell ya, they must be so proud, like a mama hen watchin’ her baby turn into a big ol’ rooster. They seen him from the start, from playin’ ball in high school to bein’ picked first in the 2024 NFL Draft. That’s somethin’ right there.
Now, you might be wonderin’, where did all this start? Well, it all started at Gonzaga College High School. Caleb played football there, y’know, like most young folks do, but he didn’t just play, he led his team to a championship. In 2018, he was only a sophomore, but he took his team to the WCAC Championship, and folks around the District started talkin’. They said he was the best, and they wasn’t wrong! He got himself on the Washington Post All-Metropolitan 1st team too, which is a big ol’ honor around these parts.
Caleb wasn’t just playin’ for fun, no sir. He was workin’ hard. And look where it got him! He went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Now that’s a big ol’ deal. If you ask me, it’s like plantin’ a seed and watchin’ it grow into a big ol’ mighty tree. Them folks that picked him, they sure got themselves a good one.
And then, you got to talk about the money. Now, I ain’t one to pay too much attention to all them numbers, but I heard that Caleb signed a four-year rookie contract worth $39.486 million. That’s a whole lotta zeros, ain’t it? I reckon his mama and daddy sure don’t have to worry about the grocery bills anymore! But it ain’t just about the money, it’s about all the hard work, sweat, and tears he put into gettin’ to where he is today.
But let me tell ya somethin’ else. It ain’t just about the football. Caleb’s folks, Carl and Dayna, they’ve been there every step of the way. From the time he was a little boy, runnin’ around, playin’ with his friends, to the time he got that big ol’ call about bein’ drafted into the NFL. They didn’t just cheer him on from the sidelines, they were right there in the thick of it, supportin’ him through it all. Ain’t no way Caleb would’ve made it this far without the love and care of his mama and daddy.
And here’s the thing, y’all: Caleb’s not just a football player. He’s got himself a good head on his shoulders. You can tell by the way he carries himself. It ain’t all about the fame and the money. That boy knows what it’s like to work hard and do right by them that’s been there for him. His story ain’t just about sports, it’s about family, work, and makin’ your dreams come true through good ol’ fashioned grit and determination.
Now, I don’t know where Caleb’s future’s gonna take him, but if I had to guess, I’d say he’s gonna keep on makin’ us proud. With folks like his mama and daddy behind him, I’m sure he’s gonna do just fine. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll all be sittin’ on our porches, watchin’ him on TV, and sayin’ to ourselves, “That boy, Caleb Williams, he done made it!”
So, if you’re out there wonderin’ about Caleb Williams and his daddy, Carl, just remember: it’s all about family, hard work, and a little bit of luck. And I reckon Caleb’s got all three on his side.
