Okay, so, I saw this headline the other day: “Calvin Johnson Comeback.” Now, I’m a huge Lions fan, have been since I was a kid. Naturally, I got all excited. Megatron back on the field? Sign me up!
So, I started digging. I read every article I could find, watched old highlights, just getting myself hyped up. He’s a legend, right? Hall of Fame in 2021, over 11,000 yards in just nine seasons. The guy’s a beast!
But then, reality hit. I found some interviews, one from the summer where he said he was done. Retired at 30. Then another one, more recent, where he basically said the same thing, and I think he played for Georgia Tech, but I’m not sure. No way he’s coming back.
- I remembered all those hits he took.
- I thought about how his body must feel after all those years.
- And I realized, it makes sense.
He’s got nothing left to prove. It was a bummer, initially. I got caught up in the fantasy. But after thinking about it, I’m okay with it.
Then, I saw something about him being honored at a game, getting inducted into the Pride of the Lions. That’s awesome! He deserves all the recognition. I heard there was some bad blood between him and the Lions for a while, but it looks like they’re patching things up. That made me happy, I wanted to support him.
So, yeah, no comeback for Megatron. But it was fun to dream for a bit, and it’s great to see him getting the respect he’s earned. I ended up just watching some of his old games, and wow, that guy was something else.
But hey, at least I know now, even though it’s a little sad. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I got there in the end. Now I wonder what the current team will do this season.
No Comeback, But Still a Legend
That’s what I concluded after my little adventure. No more games for Calvin Johnson, but his legacy is safe. And honestly, that’s pretty cool too.
