Okay, so, I heard about this 2024 Canadian Open thing, and it sounded like a big deal. I’m not really a golf guy, but I thought, “Hey, let’s see what this is all about.” First thing I did was a quick search to see when it was happening.
Turns out it was from May 30th to June 2nd. I marked those dates down, figured I’d follow along. Then I saw something about a prize, like, a lot of money. We’re talking millions! Apparently, the total purse was $9.4 million. That’s a crazy amount of cash. I dug a little deeper and found out the winner was gonna get around $1.692 million. Wow, just imagine that for a second.
So, I started watching, or at least, tried to keep up with the scores online. It was kinda cool seeing the names of the golfers and how they were doing. I noticed this guy, Robert MacIntyre, was at the top. Seemed like he was really killing it. Then there was Ben Griffin, not too far behind, and Victor Perez also up there.
I kept checking back, you know, just to see how things were going. Eventually, the whole thing wrapped up, and guess what? Robert MacIntyre won the whole thing! He was 16 under par, which I think means he did pretty darn good. Ben Griffin came in second, 15 under, and Victor Perez was third.
Here is my record of the top 3:
- Robert MacIntyre, 16 under par, prize money is $1,692,000
- Ben Griffin, 15 under par, prize money is $1,024,600
- Victor Perez, I don’t know his prize money.
So, that’s my little adventure into the world of the Canadian Open. I wouldn’t say I’m a golf fanatic now, but it was definitely interesting to follow along. Maybe next year I’ll actually watch some of it on TV!
