Hey everyone, it’s your boy back at it again. Today, I wanted to share a little adventure I had with the New York Times crossword puzzle. You know, the one that gets printed in the paper every day? Yeah, that one. The clue I got stuck on was “ending with play or plate.”
So, I started by staring at it, you know, the usual. I tried to think of words ending in “play” or “plate.” My mind was drawing a blank. I googled “ending with play or plate nyt crossword” to see if anyone else had the same issue. Turns out, a lot of people were looking for the answer to this clue, especially for the August 5, 2022 edition. I saw a few sites saying it had only one solution, while others suggested there might be more answers, like up to 30.
I dove deeper, and most websites were pointing to the answer being just three letters long. I was starting to get a hunch. I kept digging and found a few forums and communities all suggesting that the answer was “LET.” It made sense – you can have “playlet” and “platelet.” I scribbled it down on the paper, and boom, it fit perfectly.
- First, I tried to figure it out on my own.
- Then I searched online for help.
- After that, I narrowed down the possible answers.
- Finally, I found the solution and it fit.
My Experience
This whole thing reminded me that sometimes you just gotta ask for help. And the internet is a pretty cool place for that. The crossword community is huge, and folks are always ready to help each other out. These New York Times crosswords are a big deal, and many people play them all over. It is said the Monday ones are the easiest, and they get harder as the week goes on. Saturday is supposed to be the toughest. Sunday’s, contrary to what many think, are apparently like the mid-week difficulty. Anyway, it was a fun little challenge, and I’m glad I stuck with it. I’m sharing this experience with you all today to show you that it’s okay to seek out help when you need it and to highlight the cool community around these puzzles.
I just wanted to share my little adventure, and now I’m going to play it cool. I’ll see you guys in the next one. Peace out!
