Okay, so, I’ve been following this CeeDee Lamb thing with the Cowboys for a while now, and things just got real interesting. I saw the news and had to dig in.
First off, I started hitting up all the usual spots for sports news. You know, just scrolling through my phone, checking out what everyone was saying. It seemed like every source was buzzing about the same thing: CeeDee Lamb and the Cowboys finally came to an agreement.
Then, I started to gather more details. Apparently, Lamb had been holding out for a while. I mean, the guy skipped OTAs, training camp, and even the whole preseason. He was serious about getting that new contract.
So, I kept digging. I found out that this new deal is massive. We’re talking about a four-year extension worth a whopping $136 million. That’s a lot of money. In fact, the first source said this makes him one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the whole league. My jaw dropped when I read that.
Then, I saw that he wasn’t just getting a lot of money, but he is also getting a $38 million signing bonus and now he’s the second-highest paid wide receiver in the NFL. He was only supposed to make around $18 million this year, now he’s gonna pull in $34 million a year. Insane!
- Skipped OTAs, training camp, and preseason.
- Four-year deal worth $136 million.
- One of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks.
- Second-highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.
- $38 million signing bonus.
- $34 million per year!
I also found some extra stuff that talked about him possibly being a good “buy-low” candidate in fantasy football. That’s not really my thing, but it’s interesting how this contract stuff impacts that side of things, too. Then it got me down a whole path of trying to figure out what his value was in fantasy football and how much other receivers were getting paid.
Oh and, I stumbled on a bit of fake news that said he’s out for the rest of the 2024 season. I had to read that a couple of times. I quickly found out that was just a rumor, thank goodness.
Finally, after looking around some more, I confirmed that Lamb has now ended his holdout. He’s locked in with the Cowboys through the 2028 season now. What a journey this has been, from holdout to this mega-deal. I can’t wait to see him back on the field!
