Okay, so today I decided to dive into some basketball footage and compare Chet Holmgren’s performance against the Miami Heat. I’ve been hearing a lot about this rookie, and I wanted to see for myself how he stacks up against a solid team like the Heat.

Getting Started
First, I pulled up some game highlights. I wanted to get a general sense of how Chet played. I watched a few clips, focusing on his offensive and defensive plays.
Offensive Breakdown
- Shooting: I noticed Chet has a pretty smooth jump shot for a big man. I saw him hit a couple of threes and some mid-range shots.
- Post Moves: He’s got a few moves down low, but I also saw him get pushed around a bit by some of the Heat’s stronger players. He needs more practices.
- Passing: I was actually pretty impressed with his passing. I witnessed a couple of really nice passes to open teammates.
Defensive Breakdown
- Rim Protection: This is where he’s supposed to shine, right? I did see him block a few shots, but I also saw him get out of position a few times.
- Rebounding: He’s tall, so he definitely grabbed some rebounds. I think he could be more aggressive on the boards, though.
- Switching: The Heat tried to switch smaller players onto him a few times. I watched him struggle a bit to stay in front of quicker guards.
Final Thoughts
After spending a good chunk of time watching and analyzing, I came away with some mixed feelings. He’s definitely talented, but it seemed like he needs some adjustments when going against solid team defence, I guess that’s just part of being a rookie in the NBA. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on him to see how he develops over the season!
