So, I had to check out this Citibank branch in Merrifield the other day. I’ve been with Citi for a while now, but this was my first time at this particular location. I’d heard it was at 8191 Strawberry Lane, Suite E in Falls Church, so that’s where I headed.
I got there and, yep, it was a full-service branch, just like the website said. It’s been around for over 16 years, which is pretty impressive. I just needed to do some regular banking stuff, nothing too complicated. Grabbed the branch’s number, 800-627-3999, from their site just in case, but didn’t end up needing it.
Walked in, and it was your typical bank scene. I did notice a sign about needing a $30,000 combined average monthly balance to get certain benefits, but I wasn’t too worried about that at the moment. I was more focused on getting my stuff done.
- Went up to the teller.
- Did my transactions, which was no trouble.
- Got what I needed.
- I was out of there.
Later, I was curious about opening a new checking account, just to see what the deal was. Turns out, there’s no minimum deposit to open one, which is cool. But they also mentioned that accounts with zero balance for 90 days get closed, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Also, for basic accounts, they have some monthly fees, but you can get those waived if you keep a certain balance. Like $4.50 a month for the Access Account, but it’s waived if you have a $500 average balance. And $25 for The Citibank Account, waived with at least $10,000. I guess it just depends on what you need and how much money you’re dealing with.
Oh, and I found out that you can manage your bank and credit card accounts all in one place online. You just go to their website, enter your ATM or debit card info, and set it up. Seemed pretty simple.
Overall, it was a pretty standard bank visit.
Nothing too out of the ordinary. Just thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else was thinking of checking out the Citibank in Merrifield.
