Well, let me tell you ’bout this young fella, Collin Morikawa. He’s a golfer, you know, one of them fellas that whacks a little ball with a stick. Seems like he’s pretty darn good at it too. They say he’s won a bunch of tournaments, some big ones they call “majors.”
What are these “Majors” anyway? Sounds fancy, but from what I gather, they’re just the biggest golf tournaments you can play in. Like the Super Bowl of golf, I guess. This Morikawa kid, he’s won two of ’em! Can you believe it? Two! He ain’t even that old. Just a young whippersnapper, really.
The first one he won was the PGA Championship in 2020. That’s a big deal, they tell me. Folks were real surprised, seein’ as it was his first time playin’ in that particular tournament. Beat some fellas named Casey and Johnson, whoever they are. Guess they’re good too, but not as good as Morikawa that day. Shot a real low score, they said. Something like 267, which apparently is mighty fine.
- 2020 PGA Championship: Morikawa’s first major win. Won by two strokes.
- 2021 Open Championship: Another major win for the young fella. Also his first time playing in this one!
Then, wouldn’t you know it, the next year, in 2021, he goes and wins another one! This time it was the Open Championship. Folks were sayin’ he was somethin’ special, winnin’ two majors in his debut. That’s like a rookie hittin’ two home runs in his first World Series, ain’t it? Pretty darn impressive, if you ask me.
Now, they say he’s got six PGA Tour wins in total. That’s a lot, right? Six! Means he’s won more than just those two big ones. He’s winnin’ all over the place, this kid. Must be makin’ a pretty penny doin’ it too. I hear they pay these golfers a lot of money. Can’t say I know how much exactly, but it’s gotta be more than I ever made pickin’ cotton.
Is he a good fella, this Morikawa? Well, I don’t know him personally, but from what I hear, he seems alright. They say he’s got some buddies out there on the golf course, other young fellas like him. Names like Scheffler and Schauffele, or somethin’ like that. They go around together, playin’ golf and whatnot. Sounds like they have a good time. Even their wives are friends, they say. That’s nice, ain’t it? Good to have friends in this world.
What makes him so good? That’s what everyone wants to know, ain’t it? How does this young fella win all these tournaments? Well, they say he’s got talent, a real knack for hittin’ that little ball. And he’s cool as a cucumber under pressure, they say. Doesn’t get all flustered when the heat’s on. Just goes out there and does his thing. And he works hard too, I bet. You don’t get that good without puttin’ in the time and effort.
Folks call him a “force to be reckoned with,” whatever that means. Sounds like he’s a tough competitor, someone you don’t wanna mess with on the golf course. And he’s still young, so he’s probably gonna win a whole lot more tournaments before he’s done. Maybe even more of them majors. We’ll just have to wait and see.
So, that’s the story of Collin Morikawa, as far as I know it. A young fella who’s real good at hittin’ a golf ball and winnin’ big tournaments. He seems like a decent sort, and he’s got a bright future ahead of him. Maybe one day I’ll even watch him play on the television, if I can figure out how to work that darn thing.
In short, this Morikawa kid is a real winner. He’s got the talent, the drive, and the composure to be one of the best golfers in the world. And he’s already proven it by winning those two major championships. It’ll be interesting to see what he accomplishes in the years to come.
One thing’s for sure, though: Collin Morikawa is a name we’re gonna be hearing a lot more of in the world of golf. He’s a special talent, and he’s got the potential to be one of the greats. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, even if you’re just an old woman who don’t know nothin’ about golf.
