Today, I want to talk about this crossword puzzle thing I’ve been messing with. It’s called “Giveaway Crossword,” and it’s been a fun little distraction.
So, I stumbled upon this website that has daily crossword puzzles. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I’ve always liked word games, and I figured it would be a good way to kill some time and maybe keep my brain a little sharper.
I started with the easiest one, of course. Every day, they put up a new puzzle, and I was determined to do them.
- Find the puzzle: First, I had to actually find a crossword puzzle to do. I just searched on the internet and found a bunch of different websites and apps that had daily puzzles. I decided to go with one that looked pretty straightforward.
- Read the clues: Then, I read the clues. Some of them were super easy, like “opposite of black” or something. Others were a little trickier and made me think a bit more.
- Fill in the answers: I started typing in the answers that I knew. It was satisfying to see the grid fill up.
- Use hints if needed: Sometimes, I got stuck. That’s when I had to decide if I wanted to use a hint or not. I tried to solve them on my own as much as possible, but every now and then, I needed a little nudge in the right direction.
- Check my work: Once I thought I had everything filled in, I checked my work. Sometimes there were errors, and I had to go back and figure out where I went wrong.
I found that I enjoyed doing these crosswords during my coffee breaks. It was a nice way to take a mental break from work without completely zoning out in front of the TV or scrolling through social media.
The puzzles are supposed to get harder throughout the week, with Monday being the easiest and Saturday being the hardest. There’s also a bigger one on Sundays, but I haven’t worked up the courage to tackle that one yet.
Honestly, I think these crosswords have been helping my memory a bit. I have to recall all sorts of random words and trivia, and it’s kind of like exercising my brain. Plus, it’s just plain fun to figure out the answers and see the puzzle come together.
Did I really become smarter?
Well, I’m not sure if I’m becoming a genius or anything, but it’s definitely a fun way to challenge myself. It’s like a little mental workout, and I think it’s been helping me stay a bit sharper. Plus, I learn new words from time to time, which is pretty cool. It’s not like I’m going to become a walking dictionary, but it’s nice to expand my vocabulary a bit.
Overall, it’s been a positive experience. It’s a simple thing, but it’s become a little daily ritual that I look forward to. It’s a nice way to start the day or take a break, and it’s definitely more engaging than just staring at my phone.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the “Giveaway Crossword.” It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s been a fun and surprisingly beneficial little hobby.
