Okay, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football projections, and a big question I’ve been wrestling with is Kyle Pitts versus Dallas Goedert. Both are solid tight ends, but who’s gonna give me more points this season? I decided to dive in and really compare them.

Digging into Last Season’s Stats
First thing I did was pull up last season’s stats. You know, just get a feel for how they performed. I looked at everything – targets, receptions, yards, touchdowns. All the usual stuff. I wanted to see, plain and simple, who got more opportunities and who did more with them.
- Targets: Who’s the quarterback looking for more often?
- Receptions:Are they catching what that thrown?
- Yards: How much field are they gaining after the catch?
- Touchdowns:Obviously, who’s getting into the end zone?
Checking Out Team Changes
Then, I started thinking about team changes. Did either team get a new quarterback? New offensive coordinator? Any big-name wide receivers come or go? These things can totally shake up an offense, so I spent some time reading articles and team reports to see if there were any major shifts that could affect Pitts or Goedert.
Watching Some Highlights
Numbers are great, but I also wanted to, you know, see them play. So I hopped on and watched some highlight reels. I was looking for stuff like: Are they good at breaking tackles? Do they make tough catches in traffic? Do they seem to have a good connection with their quarterback?
Looking at Strength of Schedule
Another thing I considered was their schedules. Who are they playing against? Some defenses are just way tougher on tight ends than others. I found a few websites that rank strength of schedule for each position, and that gave me another piece of the puzzle.
The (Personal) Verdict
After all that, I compared my notes, crunched some very basic and personal, and I came to my own conclusion on, you know, who I felt more comfortable drafting. It’s not scientific, but it’s my process! Ultimately, I felt… well, I am not telling who I choose, you have to do the same research! Get your hands dirty!
