Alright, let’s talk about Dameon Pierce. The big question on everyone’s mind, including mine this week: should I start him? It’s been a rollercoaster, let me tell ya.

So, here’s the deal. I drafted Pierce pretty high, expecting him to be a workhorse. The first few weeks? Disaster. Fumbles, limited touches, just not the production I was hoping for. I was seriously sweating.
I remember thinking, “Did I make a huge mistake?” I started benching him, playing matchups, scouring the waiver wire for anything better. Tried guys like Khalil Herbert, even took a flier on some deep sleepers. Nothing really stuck.
Then, a couple weeks ago, things started to shift. I noticed Pierce was getting more involved in the passing game. Not a ton, but enough to make me raise an eyebrow. I checked the snap counts – his were going up. Okay, interesting.
Last week was the real test. Pierce got a season-high in carries and actually looked good! Broke some tackles, found the endzone. Finally! The guy I thought I drafted was starting to emerge. The volume was what i was looking for, honestly.
But this week… it’s tricky. He’s up against a tough run defense. The kind that eats running backs for breakfast. So, I did my homework. I looked at what other RBs have done against them this season. Not great, Bob. Not great.

Still, I’m leaning towards starting him. Here’s why: volume. Even against a tough defense, if he’s getting 15-20 touches, he’s bound to break one. And the Texans… well, they don’t have much else going on offensively, if we are being honest. I’m hoping they lean on the run game to control the clock.
I also checked the injury reports. No new injuries to Pierce, and the offensive line is relatively healthy. That’s a plus. Plus, my other options on the bench aren’t exactly world-beaters. One is on a bye, and the other is a total wildcard.
So, the plan is to roll with Pierce. I’m keeping my expectations tempered, but I’m hoping for a solid floor. Maybe 8-10 points in PPR. Anything more than that is gravy.
I’ll probably be checking my phone all day Sunday, sweating every carry. Fantasy football, man. It’s a love-hate relationship.
Here’s the final decision: I’m starting Dameon Pierce.

I’ll update y’all on how it goes. Wish me luck!
