Alright, so listen up, y’all. This whole Detroit Lions referee thing, it’s got folks all riled up, and lemme tell ya, I ain’t too happy ’bout it neither. Seems like every time them Lions boys get goin’, somethin’ fishy happens with them fellas in stripes.
Now, I ain’t no fancy football expert, ya hear? But even I can see when somethin’ ain’t right. These refs, they’re supposed to be fair, like, makin’ sure everyone plays by the rules. But sometimes, it feels like they got their own set of rules, and them rules ain’t always the same for both teams.
I saw that game, the one against them Dallas Cowboys. Folks was yellin’ at the TV, sayin’ the refs messed up somethin’ fierce. Somethin’ about a two-point conversion, I think. They said one of our boys, that big fella, number 68, he wasn’t supposed to touch the ball or somethin’. Said he didn’t report somethin or other. But dang it, the way I see it, if you’re on the field, you’re playin’ ball, right? Why they gotta make it so complicated?
And then, you hear all this talk about the refs bein’ under scrutiny. Like, the NFL’s lookin’ at ’em, seein’ if they’re doin’ their job right. But what good is that after the game’s done and over? The Lions, they lost, and no amount of lookin’ and scrutinizing gonna change that. It’s like spilt milk, ain’t it?
- Them refs, they made a bad call. Plain and simple.
- The NFL, they talkin’ ’bout demotin’ ’em. Like that’s gonna fix things.
- The Lions, they gotta keep fightin’, even when it feels like the deck’s stacked against ’em.
It ain’t right, I tell ya. These boys, they work hard, they practice all week, and then some fella in a striped shirt can just mess it all up with a bad call. It makes ya wanna throw somethin’ at the TV, I swear.
Heard tell they sent out a video to all the teams, explainin’ the rules and all that. But if the refs don’t follow the rules, what’s the point of havin’ ’em in the first place? Seems like a waste of time to me. Just teach them boys how to make the right call in the first place and we wouldn’t have this problem.
And this ain’t the first time this has happened, no sir. Seems like every other week, there’s some controversy about the refs. They miss a call here, make a bad call there. And it always seems to happen at the worst possible time, when the game’s on the line. You know, sometimes I think they just do it on purpose, just to see folks get all worked up.
Now, I know the refs got a tough job. They gotta watch all them big fellas runnin’ around, tryin’ to keep track of the ball, makin’ sure nobody’s cheatin’. But that’s what they signed up for, ain’t it? They get paid good money to do that job, and they oughta do it right. And when they make a mistake, they oughta admit it. Don’t try to cover it up or make excuses. Just own up to it and move on.
This whole referee situation, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. It makes you question the whole game, you know? Like, is it even fair? Is it even worth watchin’? I don’t know the answers to that, but I do know that somethin’s gotta change.
So, what’s the solution? I ain’t got all the answers, but maybe they need more refs, or better trainin’, or somethin’. Maybe they need to let the players challenge more calls, or have some kinda instant replay for everything. I don’t know. But somethin’ gotta give, ’cause this ain’t workin’ right now.
The Lions, they just gotta keep their heads up and keep playin’ hard. They can’t let the refs get ’em down. They gotta show ’em that they ain’t gonna be pushed around. They gotta prove that they’re a good team, no matter what the refs do. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll get a fair shake one of these days. But I ain’t holdin’ my breath on it.
Anyways, that’s just my two cents on this whole thing. I hope them fellas up in the NFL are listenin’, ’cause this ain’t right, and folks are gettin’ tired of it. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
