Okay, so I’ve been following the Diamondbacks and Pirates games lately, and I gotta share my experience with you guys. It’s been a wild ride, to say the least!
First off, I started by checking out the matchups. I mean, who doesn’t love a good baseball game, right? I saw that there were a couple of games scheduled, one on July 26th and another on July 28th. I was pumped! I marked my calendar and made sure I had everything I needed for game day snacks, drinks, the whole shebang.
Next, I dove into the odds. Now, I’m no expert, but I like to have an idea of what the bookies are thinking. I found some info on the over/under and game spread for both games. It gave me a general sense of how close these games might be. I even tried to figure out the “true odds” by averaging odds from different sportsbooks and then using one of those no-vig fair odds calculators. I’m not sure if I did it perfectly, but it was fun to try. From my understanding, decimal odds basically tell you how much you win for every dollar you bet. So, like, if the odds are 3.00, you’d win $300 for a $100 bet.
Then, there’s this thing called a “double chance” bet in football (or soccer, depending on where you’re from). It seems like a safer bet because you’re betting on a win and a draw, or a loss and a draw, at the same time. That sounds like something I should look into for future games. The odds are available for both teams.
Game Day!
When game day finally arrived, I was ready! I watched the games live, and let me tell you, they were intense! There were some amazing plays, some nail-biting moments, and a whole lot of excitement. Brandon Pfaadt started for the Diamondbacks on one of the days, going against Andrew McCutchen and the Pirates. And I saw that the Pirates were actually favored in that game.
- July 26th Game: It was a close one! I remember yelling at the TV a few times, haha. I don’t recall the exact details, but the energy was definitely there.
- July 28th Game: This one was even more exciting! The Pirates hosted the Diamondbacks at PNC Park. The atmosphere seemed electric, even through the screen.
After watching the games, I realized that sports betting can be pretty complicated. There’s a lot more to it than just picking a winner. There are so many different types of bets, different odds, and all sorts of strategies. Also, using a no-vig calculator is much harder than I thought.
Anyway, that’s my experience following the Diamondbacks vs. Pirates games. It was a blast, and I learned a lot along the way. I’m definitely going to keep following these teams and maybe even try my hand at some more advanced betting strategies in the future. Maybe I’ll even try that “double chance” bet. Who knows, I might just get lucky!
Alright, that’s all for now. Go sports!
